Do the Stars represent electricity and if so, why? What's the reasoning behind it? Has anyone had any personal association with this meaning in the cards?

No, not in my experience, or in anything I've read over the years. Electricity is generally shown as a Sun - Scythe combo.

Funny you should mention that ...

Both Rana George and Caitlin Matthews assign the Stars to electricity. A woman on the net called Donnaleigh, from memory, also uses the Stars for electricity. For the life of me I can't understand why.

I see electricity as the Sun. I actually did a reading covering the week, in which I interpreted the Sun for electricity. (Birds + Bear + Sun). I'm having some electrical work done on the house I bought interstate, including solar and air con (it's really, really hot where I'm moving to) and nearly had a heart attack at the cost. It's been stressing me out all week, worrying that it will drain my finances to nearly zero.

My daily draw this morning was the Stars + the Scythe. I wondered if that could indicate the electricity would be cut off for some reason, if electricity was indeed covered by the Stars.

I will place less importance on that meaning and mull over what else the combo may mean.

Thanks Katrinka.

Rana did mention the Stars read as electricity in her book, and Donnaleigh learns from Rana. Neither read the Sun as electricity but more as a general good omen of fortune and success.

Some other readers, mostly who claim to learn from French sources or show a distinct Rana George influence, also adhere to such associations.

As this is a daily draw it could also be very simple saying your night will be cut short, meaning you will wake up in the middle of the night and not able to go back to sleep? Just a thought...

You have some great suggestions, Joy!

Nothing "happened" today to represent Stars + Scythe, that I could think of, anyway. Then I wondered if Scythe could represent pain. I had a terrible flare up with nerve pain this evening. I usually wake during the night for a couple of hours, so it could be a combination of both.

I think I read somewhere in Andy's book or here that daily draws can sometimes be extremely blunt and mundane.

And yes Scythe can be pain! I had this last month in the reading exchange, Scythe did show us pain:

Interesting, thanks Joy! I do think that's what the draw was about (Stars - lots of + Scythe - pain). Also related to the pain, feeling quite hopeless! (Stars - Hope + Scythe - cut off) and Stars - at night. I've noticed how sometimes a card can have more than one meaning in the same reading that is relevant.

For me, the Sun card signifies electricity, especially as the absence of its rays is said to cool enterprises and bring stagnation. It can also indicate fire. The association with the Stars seems to come from the “ether” much like the card’s association with the internet and cloud.

The Stars + the Scythe can indicate sudden onset and radiating pain but also discomfort that disturbs your cognition/sense of calm — it comes and everything else just stops.

My bad, I have read it, then. I tend to skim over incompatible and/or wonky meanings, since I don't want them sticking in my mind. So I'd forgotten that. I can remember that Rana reads Whips as sex because it generates a lot of discussion. This doesn't.

And yes, the Scythe can definitely indicate pain. I was drawing it a lot when I lost a filling. It was referring to the toothache, rather than the usual warnings of danger.

Is there any basis for the internet association other than facebook? Lol. I tend to use Park combos.
And I think of electricity as quite physical, rather than something in the ether - as does anyone who's ever gotten a shock! 😁

Internet? Aaaahhhh. Here comes another reading! I did wonder about where the internet fits in. Stay tuned.

I don't think it fits in at all. But that's me. YMMV, etc.

I would be interested in your input then regarding my newest reading. What is "YMMV"?

"Your mileage may vary" - basically, "You do you, boo!" 😁
Getting ready for work at the moment but I'll get to it as soon as I can. I would MUCH rather be breaking down a reading, lol.

Insofar as the Internet is a tool to provide global (spreading) dissemination of information (clarity, direction) you could argue for the Stars. But it is more the concept rather than specific function.

Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Forums are social media and networking tools.  Like you, I see these as being closer to the Park. Some readers prefer the Birds card because of the Twitter logo. That has never made sense to me.

I guess Stars as the internet could crop up if you are having problems with being connected to the internet - wifi and the like. I also think that Park is more relevant to describe social networking.

Yes, absolutely. The Sun physically burns as well.

Remember when people thought all that information and connectedness would make humanity smarter? But the way it worked out, too many are in their little echo chambers telling each other that vaccines are bad and the world is run by lizard people.

Definitely not Stars, lol.

Twitter is not the whole internet, obviously. Ghaa.
