Does anyone here work with the Minchiate? Which version/s do you own? What are your experiences with it, and how accurate was it? I've heard that among Tarot decks, it is one of the most useful when you want to read on everyday concerns, sorta like the Lenormand, Kipper, and Sibilla.

I have the Minchiate Tarot deck and book set by Brian Williams. It seems that the near-universal acclaim that the book has received is pretty much warranted. Many say that it is one of the if not the best among books on the Minchiate.

A person I know has the rare Lo Scarabeo Antiche Minchiate Etruria Set. I'd take pictures of the English parts of the book tomorrow and transcribe it altho she did say that the meanings there were quite sparse. It's still one of the very few books on the Minchiate that I know of, so I'd still do it.

I also have pics of the LWBs of two sets of Minchiate decks - a complete one written by Berti and another one that only deals with the 40 majors by Tosonotti. Thing is - both are written in Italian, so i don't know what to do with them. When push comes to shove, I guess I can always try Google Translate.

Btw, HERE are a set of meanings in a page I found online, thanks to the Kriya Yoga altervista site. Enjoy!

There's another one I'm tracking down. I'd post it in this thread once I get it.

I've got the LoS Etruria set, and I love it. :) It reads well on everyday matters as well as on more psychological/spiritual matters, but then, in my experience, all pip decks do. I guess it depends a lot on the reader's style.

Thanks for the link, btw! Have you noticed the Thoth titles for the pips in parentheses? :D

Yes I did because I love the Thoth! There were two inconsistencies tho: in the Minchiate link the Seven of Coins was named Assessment (it's Failure in Thoth) while the Seven of Cups was Temptation (Debauch). Also, welcome to the Forums, dancing_moon. :)

Thanks! Glad to be here. ;D

Finally, Lo Scarabeo is going to re-release their Minchuate Etruria as part of their Anima Antiqua line. My prayers have been answered! It's schedules to be released by June so I'm going to watch out for it.

Does anyone have the Minchiate Fiorentine or the Tarocco Fiorentino published by Solleone with the booklet written by Constante Constantini? Kindly reply here or PM me if you'd prefer that. I do not plan to trade or buy/sell decks because that is against forum rules. I have something big planned for the Minchiate tho and this is all about info. Thanks!

I have several Minchiates, the Tarocchi Minchiate Al Leone - check out the bandage on this Fool - he's been trepanned. They used to do that in Europe on the mentally ill to release evil influences.

(You can see more of the cards here

)

This TINY Fiorentine http://tarotbg.eu/en/il-meneghello-decks/187-minitarocchi-minciate-fiorentine.html

And the old LS Minchiate Etruria in a tuckbox (not the set).

I used to have the Brian Williams set, but I passed it on. The book gives you some good history, but it's not much help with reading. But most of us here have enough background with Tarot and basic astrology, and might only need to read up a bit on the other symbols. I think any pip Tarot is great for everyday concerns, as it's a deck of playing cards. ;)

That's a lot of Minchiates, katrinka! :)

I haven't opened the Williams Minchiate yet, but I hope that its book is at least as good as his companion book for the Renaissance Tarot, which was one of the best Tarot tomes I've ever had the pleasure of reading. I do put a premium in how a book tackles the divinatory aspects of the deck it discusses, so I'll take note of what you said.

And lol at the trepanned Fool. The Minchiate is turning out to be quite irreverent and quirky, which would provide a refreshing counterpoint to the solemn and profound decks that I often use. :D

Then there's the Francois de Poilly Minchiate.

Oh those cards are very interesting!  Thanks for sharing!  I have the Tarocchi Minchiate Al Leone but no nothing of the history of the deck.  That was so interesting about the bandage of the Fool's foot.
