Therese Posted October 30, 2021 Posted October 30, 2021 I hope I chose the correct area to post this theme. What are your tarot wishes right now? I'd like to purchase a mini Albano Waite someday. Gladly a new edition with nice colors and maybe in a tin. My second wish would be a new edition of the Bohemian Gothic with cold-stamping. In case I can afford it. That's all for me. I'd like to read your wishes, if you want to share. 🙂
legendaryelement Posted October 30, 2021 Posted October 30, 2021 Hello, Therese! At the moment, I am looking at Davide Corsi’s Ghost Tarot (Lo Scarabeo) https://www.loscarabeo.com/en/products/ghost-tarot Also, the Phantasma by Paulina Fae and The Goblin Market Tarot https://tarotarts.com/products/phantasma-tarot https://www.penguinrandomhouse.com/books/692130/the-goblin-market-tarot-by-john-matthews/
AJ-ish/Sharyn Posted October 30, 2021 Posted October 30, 2021 I wish I knew what was going on with some of the active posters at AT, this morning Sulis comes to mind, her ultra brave decision; I can still see her running on her new foot, how her daughter fared in school, and so on. Tomorrow someone else will come to mind, and I'll wish...
DanielJUK Posted October 30, 2021 Posted October 30, 2021 She is doing great @AJ-ish/Sharyn💕. I talk to her almost daily on Instagram these days. I think she is burnt out by forums for life 🙂 She posts readings and only uses her instagram account now online. But a lot of us are still in touch with her, she hasn't vanished from the community phew. She often posts her walks in local parks 🙂 Let's get back to our decks we are wishing for currently though
Niobium Posted October 30, 2021 Posted October 30, 2021 Weirdly I find myself looking back at a couple years ago, when I was watching Fyodor Pavlov post the art to his deck and thinking 'dear gods WHENNNNN' and now it's here. Ditto SKT III. Right now, I suppose my Tarot wish is for Cracked Amethyst's Jessica Tarot, which is underway and looks stunning.
katrinka Posted October 30, 2021 Posted October 30, 2021 There's one I'm thinking of, one of the old esoteric Tarots, but the name escapes me at present. It's so unattainable that I haven't even thought about it in some time. And it's never been published as a deck, but it's stunning. It's in black and white...
Therese Posted October 31, 2021 Author Posted October 31, 2021 Maybe someone will remember the name of the deck @katrinka. I love to read all your wishes! Anticipation is a nice feeling.
katrinka Posted October 31, 2021 Posted October 31, 2021 I think gregory would know. Selena too, we talked about it once. But I'm not tagging anybody. Its all moot.
gregory Posted October 31, 2021 Posted October 31, 2021 I want the wooden Kashmiri..... I know what you mean, katrinka; I'll look it up when we get back from France.
Saule Posted November 2, 2021 Posted November 2, 2021 Been wanting Green Witch Tarot for years. But I already have too many decks, so it'd just lie in my drawer, collecting dust, like many others 😞 Might treat myself for Christmas though, even if it's just to look at it from time to time. The artwork is stunning and I connect with it so well. It makes me feel at peace.

I MAY not be able to find it ! but somewhere in the ether of the internet is our discussion ! I think it was in a thread about decks we wish someone would print.
katrinka Posted November 2, 2021 Posted November 2, 2021 I've been deep diving old posts and so far, nothing. But there is more to go through... In the meantime, I found another one I wish someone would print, Austin Osman Spare's: https://www.pinterest.com/ragnarofl/aos/ It makes no sense that these important old decks never see print.

I find that the decisions of what goes out of print vs what stays in print make no sense to me. I'm sure there's various business reasons for it, but I see so many decks that are, well, really uninspiring, and then ones like these are ignored. It's a little odd.

And I'm not trying to take away from anyone elses' enjoyment of the new decks, but most of them just leave me cold. I think these old decks that have never seen print would sell. Maybe do something like Berti does and present them in limited editions. A lot of us like historical Tarots, they'd get snapped up quick.
gregory Posted November 2, 2021 Posted November 2, 2021 Yes, I want Osman Spare's too. I have the book, and sometimes I think.... I BELIEVE someone is working on it, though.

This book is probably the way to go. Drat, I should have gotten it when it was $100. It's $225 now. https://smile.amazon.com/Lost-Envoy-Austin-Strange-Attractor/dp/1907222448/ref=sr_1_1?crid=8RIU3F1YZ3DX&dchild=1&keywords=austin+osman+spare+tarot&qid=1635881870&sprefix=austin+osman+spare+tar%2Caps%2C257&sr=8-1 There's scans here and there on the net, but I haven't been able to piece together the whole deck. 1 hour ago, TheThumbPuppy said: What about copyright? Spare died in 1956. Isn't UK copyright 70 years from the artists death? If so, we've got five years to go until it's public domain. But the images are being printed in books. Maybe it could be licensed somehow. https://copyrightservice.co.uk/copyright/uk_law_summary
gregory Posted November 2, 2021 Posted November 2, 2021 HUH ? I didn't pay ANYTHING like that for it.... not even $100....
gregory Posted November 2, 2021 Posted November 2, 2021 (edited) http://strangeattractor.co.uk/shoppe/lost-envoy/ Oh. Out of stock.... Edited November 2, 2021 by gregory
katrinka Posted November 2, 2021 Posted November 2, 2021 I'm seeing it for $35 - $50 on some sites, but out of stock. This is the rock bottom price I could find: https://artbookstores.com/Lost-Envoy-The-Tarot-Deck-of-Austin-Osman-Spare

Yeah--just a small print run, they can even price them on the 'indie' side and they'd for sure make money. Even as someone who does enjoy new decks, I get irritated that publishers won't also give more classical decks like these a moment in the spotlight. If a Bosch deck with coins coming out of a dude's rear can get published, why can't this? (Apologies to anyone who has and likes that deck, I just can't get past some of the choices for imagery.) P&P wasn't too bad. What I resent are the custom's over-inflated fees. In gregory we trust. 😁 I ended up ordering, too. We probably won't even be seeing that price in the future. And in a way I broke even, because I ordered this and amazon knocked $40 off. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/163149256X/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I like books about how people were inspired to write songs and create things. I think a lot of it comes from a similar place as reading cards, there are parallels to be drawn. He says you have to be in the right mood and start with a clear mind, and trust your initial feelings, because at the beginning you don't really know where you're going. That goes for cards, too. I get more out of books like this than I do most Tarot books. Most of those, the more recent ones at least, are just people pretending to know more than they really do. But I think the book about Spare will be an exception. 🙂 Edited November 3, 2021 by katrinka
