I don't post here often or even not at all but some of you may remember me from my days over at the purple place (ATF 💜☺️).

I'm considering subscribing as I need to sell some of my old, unused tarot collection and don't know where to start.

I'm obviously not asking for offers or anything here in the Tarot Decks forum but does anyone have any idea of the value of the first edition Victorian Romantic Gold.  It's a limited edition, numbered, unused and comes with a journal.

Opinions and help will be very much appreciated.

Hello, Sulis! ((( 💖 )))

So good to “see” you again!

My general rule of thumb (when purchasing an OOP item) is a maximum of 3x to 5x the original retail selling price … depending on how badly I want it. LOL

REGULAR ones start at £180+ on ebay. Not that that's a real indicator, but....

And how lovely to see you !

Hi Gregory and legendaryelelment (it's lovely to see some familiar 'faces').  Thanks for the info.  I seem to remember the gold edition going for around £500 years ago but don't know what it's going for now or if it's even desirable - I suspect it is as it's a limited edition. Legendaryelement, I can't remember what I paid for it but I'm sure it's probably worth a lot more than that as it's a limited, numbered and signed edition.

Any idea how I can find out?  I may just subscribe and ask for offers on the Trading forum if that's allowed.  I'll have a think.

No idea on your question 'laughs' but just had to say Hello as well.

So good to see you, hope you are well and happy

I paid 45 euros for mine, way back in the day. It's desirable all right. The third edition (metallic overlay) is up there for £335.

Oh my. OK - looking on another forum, in 2010, one sold for $400.

A first edition NOT GOLD boxed with book 2006 sold on ebay in April 2022 for £895

But it all depends how many folks there are who want the deck, or have the £££. That one had just the one bid.

HI Sulis, I just mentioned you in one of my ebay listings 😉

You can make yourself crazy trying to list "what you think it's worth". In January I sold part of my collection and started them all at 9.95 US and the market takes care of it and it all evens out. The real collectors are always looking.

I just finished listing another 80 some decks, the last of mine, starting price the same thing. I just chose to not make myself crazy, I always end up with more than my total investment, and it isn't often you can say that about used stuff.

RE: magic realist stuff, I sold mine long ago, I don't like their business practices, but that's just me and my opinion.

When I think of you I think of you running on your new sporty foot. Be well, Sharyn/AJ

nice to see you around this place @Sulis 😘❤️

The boring answer is that people will pay depending how interested they are in the moment. But it must be worth a few £££

You are welcome to do this, and ask for offers and see what you get and have a minium that you won't sell it for less than that.

Make sure you say what countries you are willing to sell to if you do list it here

I had a look through the trading section and a few members sold Victorian Romantic decks over the last 3 years. One of them, replaced the price with sold, so we will never know what it went for. The other was about $180. Both are not as limited or an early edition as yours. Just a guide from our sales / trades 🙂
