Amethyst indigo Posted January 12, 2018 Posted January 12, 2018 My Paulina deck for whimisical beauty, and my Wild unknown for a beauty that is stark and raw.
Carojulie Posted January 14, 2018 Posted January 14, 2018 Hello ! When I saw the title of the thread and read all the other posts (which was fun ! thank you for sharing ! :) ) ; I almost jumped on my keyboard to type the names of all my Baba decks. But then, mentioning Baba decks in a thread about the most beautiful decks is almost like cheating, isn't it ? I thought some other beautiful decks deserved a chance also, lol ! So here are a few of the most beautiful decks (IMO) that I am lucky enough to have (the names of the decks shown in the pictures are in this order : center, bottom, left, up, right) : - Distant Past tarot - Steampunk tarot (Charissa Drengsen) - Stella's tarot - Soprafino - Hardy tarot - Touchstone tarot - Artist Inner Vision tarot - Wild Unknown tarot - Oriental tarot - Japaridze tarot And I think that in a next post, I will post some of my Baba decks (because, how can I not ? lol ! ) Happy new year everyone ! :)
katrinka Posted January 15, 2018 Posted January 15, 2018 @Carjoulie - which deck is that Page of Wands from in your top photo? I think I like it...
EmpyreanKnight Posted January 16, 2018 Posted January 16, 2018 If I may, Carojulie. The Page of Wands is from the Distant Past Tarot, katrinka.
Carojulie Posted January 16, 2018 Posted January 16, 2018 Exactly, the Distant Past tarot by Jeri Totten. It's beautiful, very sunny and blue, and comes in three sizes (pocket, standard and large). It is the large shown here. It has great cardstock, supple and creamy (makes me think of recent Baba cardstock like Tarot of Prague 3d). The pocket edition which I also have is a different cardstock, with a texture to it that makes it resemble linen cardstock. The artist has a Etsy shop, and she is a darling to deal with. I like this deck a lot, it is a happy deck. Edited to add : I just checked and apparently her Etsy shop has closed, and her regular website is nowhere to be found. .... hem. Mystery. I hope she is doing fine and will come back. She is talented, has made several lenormands, and I think I remember that she had another tarot in the making....
katrinka Posted January 16, 2018 Posted January 16, 2018 Thank you! I've seen her Lenormands, not my style, but this Tarot looks fantastic! I'll keep an eye out for it, I'm sure it will turn up.
EmpyreanKnight Posted March 1, 2018 Posted March 1, 2018 I can't believe that the Mystical Tarot by Giuliano Costa hasn't been mentioned here before. It's <3
Jewel Posted March 1, 2018 Posted March 1, 2018 I cannot believe I did not weigh in on this thread! So here are some I find the most beautiful: - Victorian Romantic Gold - Bohemian Gothic - Alice Tarot - Baroque Bohemian Cats - Tarot of Dreams - Legacy of the Divine - Amber Tarot - Ananda - Shadowscapes - Tarot of the Hidden Realm - Dreams of Gaia
DanielJUK Posted March 2, 2018 Posted March 2, 2018 The most beautiful deck in my collection (so far) for me is the Pearls of Wisdom tarot. Each card was created as a fairly large painting for each tarot card. There is so much in each card and it's so colourful. In recent years I learnt the back story from the creator Roxi Sim posting about it on a social media and making the deck was a healing journey for her after the death of her Mother, young Son and problems with her own health. She went to the Caribbean on a healing journey and so the cards have the people she lost and the new people she met and the inspiration she found in the islands she visited. It's a very busy deck in art terms but also very optimistic.
EmpyreanKnight Posted March 2, 2018 Posted March 2, 2018 I'm not a fan of comic book-like art, but the images in Tarot D: The Didactic Tarot inspire me like few others. Utterly, inbelievably gorgeous. One of my favorite decks in my entire collection.

One of my favorite decks in my entire collection. I dont have this deck but have seen images, and it's "super hero comics " style is attractive. Is it really didactic ?
EmpyreanKnight Posted March 3, 2018 Posted March 3, 2018 It definitely taught me a different way to look at the cards, to divine their meanings through a more vibrant, kinetic, and (strangely) hopeful lens so yeah, personally I found it very instructive, Carojulie. Even Roxi Sim agreed with the deck's title in the Foreword that she wrote in the companion book, since she thought that the creator's "goal is to teach the Tarot through symbolism". Also, is it just me or does the Pearls of Wisdom Tarot by Sim and the Didactic seem to have a similar art style? Full disclosure tho. In the Preface that Jeffrey Donato wrote, he said that he dubbed the deck with its present title "because the process of creating it has been exactly that". That is, the creation of the cards was highly instructive for him, and led him to know and explore more about the Tarot. So there you go. :)

Whisper Posted March 18, 2018 Posted March 18, 2018 In spite of my many recent purchases, including The Journey into Egypt Tarot, I must say that said Journey into Egypt is the most beautiful Tarot I have ever seen.
DanielJUK Posted March 23, 2018 Posted March 23, 2018 I love the Pearls of Wisdom, the colors are just so beautiful and vivid. I have the 1st and 2nd editions of this deck. Yay I am so glad you love it! At least two of us do :) I have the 1st edition that someone graciously gave me from AT, the first and second editions have problems and Roxi was not happy with the production and the borders. However there is a 3rd edition she has on Gamecrafter and has a poker size or large carded size. I did buy the third edition and it's so beautiful, no borders and has all sorts of booklets and meditations with it. So I have the 1st and 3rd editions. If you love the deck and have the money sometime it's really worth investing in the final edition, it's what the deck should have been from the start and shows off the artwork beautifully. I have just got into using my new version this month and it's so wonderful :)

I will have to use that deck one of these months as my deck of the month (but it will have to be after Spring ... Faeries have my Spring all booked up)
CharlotteK Posted March 28, 2018 Posted March 28, 2018 I've been enabled on the Pearls of Wisdom and just got the latest edition in poker size from Gamecrafter. Got hit with customs / Post Office admin fee :( But it's gorgeous if rather busy. I'm really looking forward to reading with it. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
Rose Lalonde Posted March 28, 2018 Posted March 28, 2018 Some of the decks I love to look at... I see a few of them mentioned above! :) (I also agree with Bookworm that Crystal Tarots by Trevisan is beautiful, and second that it wouldn't be a reading deck for me. I don't actually own that one.)
EmpyreanKnight Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 Whew you have a really beautiful collection, Rose Lalonde! <3 Some of these I also have, some are in my to-buy list, while a few of them I've admired from afar for quite some time. For those who are curious about them, the cards you displayed are from: Top Row: Mary-El, Origins, Roots of Asia, Dame Fortune's Wheel Middle: Tarrocco Favoloso, Thoth, Tabula Mundi Colores Arcus, Pierre Madenié 1709 Bottom: ReVISIONed, Asherah, Alexander Daniloff These are so enabling sigh

I was thinking I should come back after lunch and add the list, and you've saved me from having to do it! ;D
EmpyreanKnight Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 Lol I just knew the cards, so I thought I'd identify them in case anyone's curious. You have an exquisite taste. ^-^
DanielJUK Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 I've been enabled on the Pearls of Wisdom and just got the latest edition in poker size from Gamecrafter. Got hit with customs / Post Office admin fee :( But it's gorgeous if rather busy. I'm really looking forward to reading with it. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk I got the largest jumbo size at the time when it was first released and also got my worst ever customs / post office fees from it :( I am so glad I bought it but I would never buy from Gamecrafter again internationally, it always has customs fees. If I did want a deck, I would ask an American friend to take it and send on to me, the fees are just too crazy! Decks made / sent with Printerstudio come from a German hub in the EU and avoid customs fees which is worth knowing. Hope you enjoy reading with it Charlotte!

MollyCat Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 The most beautiful decks? Impossible question for me. Each has its own value. I could name something today but in a month's time, I may feel differently. For original, powerful and starkly beautiful art, I could suggest Ellen Lorenzi-Prince's 'Crone'. I also like Ellen's work with her "Dark Goddess'.
