v_quixotic Posted September 8, 2022 Posted September 8, 2022 I got my first RWS Deck back in 1996 and while I still have the cards (wrapped in dark silk and kept in a wooden box), I have lost the original box and LWB. I have the miniature version included in the Universal Waite miniature deck in a tin and was wondering if it is the same. I've got a copy of 'The Key to the Tarot' by Waite with a forward by Liz Greene and can see the texts are derived from the same source. Are the original versions likely to be online to be online somewhere? The reason I want it is to do a video recap of my introduction to the cards.
HOLMES Posted September 8, 2022 Posted September 8, 2022 Yes, all key to the tarot is the same if it says waite. Us games frequently gave it to us in the book deck combos for a while. So unless your deck came with a book written for it, you had to just get the deck or end up with more copies of the book. To really do a recap of it, might have to do some more research on it.

I would email USGames customer services and say you lost the booklet that came with the deck. I think they have links to pdf versions but they are not public. Some tarot companies have pdf versions now but don't seem to like to make public links to them for the deck pirates. They might be able to help 🙂 From the USGames decks I have got, the booklet tends to be the same for all of them but has their own (tiny) keywords and takes and then the Key to the Tarot meanings after. The Key to the Tarot is public domain now so is available on many websites, like @legendaryelement posted above 🙂
Tarot_John Posted October 9, 2022 Posted October 9, 2022 The Embassy of the Free Mind (a museum and library in Amsterdam founded by The Da Vinci Code author Dan Brown in 2017) has scans of both a 1910 copy of The Key to the Tarot and a 1911 copy of The Pictorial Key to the Tarot.
