remod Posted October 1, 2022 Posted October 1, 2022 (edited) I'm considering making some of my decks available on Deckible (an app for iOS and Android). I understand it's not 100% mature yet and there are bugs here and there but I think is a pretty nice idea and it's free, so I think I'll give it a try. Has anyone here already used it to publish their deck? Any feedback to share? Edited October 1, 2022 by remod
remod Posted October 5, 2022 Author Posted October 5, 2022 (edited) For those interested. I tried it. Everything is free for creators. Uploading the deck is a little bit complicated but they are working on it to simplify the process. It's a very flexible platform. I like the possibility to have more than one face for each card (which is obviously impossible in reality). Imagine having a card that has a back, you can flip it and get the face with the image, you can flip it again and get the face with the explanation. I tried to use this feature: my deck has cards with a back and two faces (one with a diagram to cast I Ching lines, the other with an image). The platform also automatically generate a set of image to promote your deck. For example this one is from my deck: I'm not expecting any sale from this deck (I'm doing all this just for spreading the word about the existence of different decks for casting I Ching) but feels nice to have one's deck in the open for people to judge 🙂 If I understand correctly their Terms and Conditions, you keep all the rights on the deck (of course) but you can't put it on line on platforms similar to theirs. They also help you sell physical copies of your deck by allowing you to put a link to where your deck can be bought. You can use multiple spread layouts or design your own (I had to do it). I plan to prepare a variation of my 8 cards deck and put that on as well. I need to understand better how to add a guidebook to the deck. Edited October 5, 2022 by remod
remod Posted October 12, 2022 Author Posted October 12, 2022 A short video to show how decks appear to the user:
remod Posted October 19, 2022 Author Posted October 19, 2022 (edited) To leave a track that someone else might be interested to, I've done it again. I converted one of my trigrams based, eight cards deck to Deckible. Beside the images, that I already had created with Midjourney, I added a text description to each trigram (taken from the corresponding hexagram). The idea was to test a "single card" spread, to focus on the trigram obtained by randomly picking a card. Here is how it appears: At the end of the video you will notice that each trigram is presented twice (in fact it's a 16 cards deck). Two cards with the same trigram differ from the type of the line that appears in the bottom right corner. Red lines are moving lines. Edited October 19, 2022 by remod
