I tend to use certain decks for this upcoming season. Mostly my darker decks because I feel they have a more earthy tone. For example Tarot of the Vampyres, Deviant Moon, Tarot of Bones and Mary El among others. Does anyone else like to use different decks like this?

I don't really use certain Tarot decks according to season, but I use some oracles like that. I have a Halloween deck, and it gets used between 1st November and somewhere in March. I couldn't imagine using it in May, for example. Tarot, however, doesn't have such seasonal connotations for me and I use all the decks I have all year round. But if I had decks like the Jack O'Lantern Tarot I'm sure I'd use it like those Halloween cards.

It's not a conscious thing but I definitely gravitate towards deeper, richer colours in the cold months (Mary-El, Druidcraft, Tabula Mundi) and lighter, springy looking decks (like TWU, Sakki Sakki or Baba's Alice) when the sun's about.

As the nights grow longer and colder, I find myself reaching for darker decks (Shadows, Gothic) and those with a stark, limited palette (Heaven & Earth, Vintage).

I've moved this thread to the tarot deck section where it will fit in perfectly 🙂

There was a recent similar thread about this topic if it gives inspiration....

I thought that for the term "upcoming season", @ElaineD was referring to winter. That's what my reply was geared towards. I prefer more vivid colors for autumn.

Here we have snow, so winter isn’t an upcoming season, it’s already here 😊
I think it would be nice to discuss winter decks, like @Akhilleus and possibly the TS suggested. Perhaps the title of this thread could be altered to specify what we will be discussing? @ElaineD
