Scarlet Woodland Posted December 5, 2022 Posted December 5, 2022 (edited) After picking up my waterproof, Samhain Deck of the Bastard again, for the last, new moon reading, I'm addicted 😁. I remembered the shuffle being fantastic but oh my god, it riffles like butter. This got me wondering. Are there any other decks printed on that same, buttery soft, waterproof stock that tarotbyseven uses? I thiiiiink her decks are usually printerstudio but not sure about the waterproof stock. I believe the Ellis Deck still has a waterproof version for now (wish I'd sprung for that instead of my standard deck but I was feeling cheap at the time) but do you guys know of any others? I can't really justify 3 versions of Deck of the bastard 😅 Edited December 5, 2022 by Scarlet Woodland
Scarlet Woodland Posted December 5, 2022 Author Posted December 5, 2022 Looks like the Golden Thread Tarot has waterproof stock too.

Scarlet Woodland Posted December 5, 2022 Author Posted December 5, 2022 Aha, found another one in case anyone else is interested. TarotCardsDarkForest on etsy has a waterproof, aged style RWS clone. Sure I'll get stung with customs fees at some point but her decks are extremely reasonably priced.
Guest Posted December 6, 2022 Posted December 6, 2022 I remember the creators of the True Black Tarot claiming that it was splash-resistant in some promotional ads. I'm guessing that plastic decks like the Transparent Tarot and the 100% Plastic Rider Tarot Deck should also be waterproof.

I've been fimly averting my eyes from the True Black as it's such a "luxury" option, shall we say. Their 3 card sample packs are a great idea though! I hope that catches on with other indie producers. I have the Transparent Oracle somewhere actually. Should dig it out and see what it's like to shuffle, thanks. The Plastic Rider Waite looks like it shuffles beautifully. Might have to get over my yellow box RW aversion and pick one up if we start hiking again in summer 👍
gregory Posted December 7, 2022 Posted December 7, 2022 Oh lord - there IS the LoScarabeo one, of course: the Transparent Universal.... Only a quarter of each card has an image on because they combine, but yeah... https://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/cards/universal-transparent/

Have see ppls walkthroughs and the laminated "plastic" version is quite saturated, where the traditional "cardboard" one is much darker and more tea-stained looking. No-one's shown the waterproof one yet and I'm hoping it'll sit somewhere in between but both the other versions look great.

Just received this deck and yes it has that fantastically flexible, weighty, waterproof carsdtock that riffles like a dream. I'm a happy ferret.
