That’s usually the best forecast I’ll get all day. 🙂 I love your approach here My daily readings usually focus and the external… what’s going to happen…what to embrace…what to avoid…. But your spread allows for self-reflection and awareness which seems like a great way to start the day. I will definitely be trying this tomorrow
Shaira Posted August 12, 2024 Posted August 12, 2024 (edited) I have a default "practice spread" which is a little morning thing to keep my hand in. It's just a 3 card straight line PPF spread, middle card first, then left, then right (so 2 - 1 - 3). I then read in the order: Middle card (1): the present situation. Something that's affecting me or my thoughts or events around me right now. Left-hand card (2): the past. Could be recent, could be more distant, but it's the background and often the "source" for the present situation. Right-hand card (3): the future. Generally how the whole thing is going to come out. Could be an immediate resolution, could be further, but it's specific to the matter at hand. If I want more detail about one of the cards / stages, I'll take it as a Significator and do a fresh reading around that. I find it nice and simple, also traditional and well-known, easily customisable to your own style, and also a spread you can do for friends or other people in a short time - the whole thing is usually 5-15 minutes. Perfect for a morning read, and I find it often surprisingly pertinent. Blessed be, Sarah Edited August 12, 2024 by Shaira

I find this can be an issue for me when I do my daily (3-card mind/body/spirit) reading—especially if a situation is ongoing. At times, because nothing much IS going to happen that day, it's almost as if the tarot wants me to 'look ahead.' I find it hard to control that. Edited August 12, 2024 by Chariot

For me the spread deals with a current situation, which might be happening just today, but will probably be more wide-ranging. I don't usually sweat it too much - I find that the three cards together create a story where it rapidly becomes obvious what's being talked about. The situation is "currently" affecting me (or the querent), ie right now, but its effects and ramifications are usually much longer in timescale.
Twiggalina Posted October 2 Posted October 2 I'm currently letting the deck decide in the mornings because I read jumpers. I don't go crazy, especially before coffee but I generally ask about the energy of the day ahead and get one to 3 cards(depending on my shuffling skills on any given day). As I work from home I leave the cards on my coffee table and look at them whenever I have a break.
