@RunningWild did your deck eventually arrive? I hope so. My photo of it seems to be featured on the posts page every other day πŸ˜… The Invision software that cycles through decks must have taken a liking to it.

Yes it did! I didn’t think to do an update on it. I like it so far. The certificate claims it’s #1220 of 2000.

I looked at the title of this and thought, well, sadly, nothing right now... BUT!! then i remembered I backed this thing:

I ordered it in antique copper (iirc), and they start shipping in October I think.

Damn! I didn't know I needed that!

They just recently charged me for the shipping, so it is happening πŸ˜ƒ

I just received a package from the other side of the world with... the wrong deck in it. πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

Just venting. Sigh.

Oh, geez. What a pain, and what a disappointment.

I had that happen too! Decided to keep it, it was a palm reading thing. Not sure why one would need a deck for that, but... who knows!

Not in the mail, but I went to a Vintage fair last Sunday and found an Ancien Tarot de Maresille deck (Grimaud). Nothing unusual in itself, the reference number implies it was printed between 1970 and 1980. The box itself had some water stains, but the cards are untouched. They had been shuffled, inexpertly, because the cover cards had been shuffled into the deck. All the cards are present and accounted for, and I doubt it has actually been read with.

On Tuesday, I received The Lubanko Tarot. Another case where one card drew me in and so I had to have it. Also, another case of being enabled by the Identify This Deck thread. 🀣

Eeee eeee eeee! I finally found a copy of Phil and Jacqui Lovesey's pocket-sized The Secret of Wand Wood oracle deck. I found it pre-owned, as it ...like so many of their fabulous decks ...is no longer in print. Ordered it immediately. I don't know how long it will take to arrive, but it's being sent from London, and I'm in Scotland ...so here's hoping it won't take too long.

If you want a deck of theirs, you apparently need to buy it quick, as they do go out of print fairly fast! Jacqui has an Etsy shop and a presence on Facebook.

I’m obsessed with the Zoomies Tarot I received this month. It’s almost a conversation with the RWS as much as it is a RWS deck itself… if that makes sense. Like the Ace of Swords saying, β€œbuckle up, bitchlings” as a nod to the difficult suit to come. I love the common cuckoo as the Fool. (Animals only in this deck)

The cards are very positive and at the same time open about things sometimes being $**t.

The artist was an NHS psychiatrist who went viral while posting a quick picture a day during maternity leave. She became so popular she left her day job.

She’s currently out of this deck but hopes to self print again soon. Watkins Books in London has the last copies and ships anywhere. Cardstock isn’t amazing but the price is lower than most indie decks.

She has an oracle deck for sale on etsy (zeppelinmoon)

Also received the Sacred Spring deck I backed on kickstarter. I like the art style and crossover with playing cards.

Regarding the Secrets of Wand Wood oracle by Phil and Jacqui Lovesey ...unfortunately the deck I received from eBay turns out to be counterfeitβ€”a good quality knock-off, printed in China, but with absolutely NO reference anywhere as to who created it. It was new, shrink-wrapped, etc ...and not particularly inexpensive. Did not include the book. I have reviewed it as such. I considered alerting Phil and Jacqui to this rip-off, but it appears this version is no longer for sale. (The out-of-print cards are not on sale on their own site either, which is why I turned to eBay in the first place.) The company on eBay that sold it to me does not specialise in cards ...sells lots of unrelated stuff. I guess I'll just live with it, but it's very annoying. Okay the original deck is out of print, but still....grrrr.... Lesson learned.

How do you like it so far? I'm on and off with this one, didn't buy it yet.

My Jonasa Jaus Stunning 6th Edition arrived; I had sold off my previous edition of this (1st or 2nd, I forget which) some time back because it really didn't do anything for me, but this time the art was a real draw.

@Niobium I really like that moon card. Big fan of when the moon is portrayed as a maze or labyrinth, I’ve just realized. The knight of cups is beautiful too. Might have to check out a flip through πŸ₯·

I recommend having a look at it! I seem to recall earlier versions were Thoth but this is definitely an RWS version now.

We could have had it all. But the shipping price is ridiculous. Thanks, but no thanks balloon_dis2

...a little venting always helps... On the bright side, the Kazanlar Tarot just got delivered to my door, and the shipping for this one was a very reasonable 12 euros, so that definitely cheered me up! 😊

I haven't had a chance to do more than look through the deck since I got it. I'll have to let you know later.

I went ahead and ordered Tarot of Mystical Moments as a reward for konmaring 99% of the stuff in my closet.

It was mostly old school assignments and homework from decades ago, and I did want to keep some sketchbooks and old journals and stuff to have a doorway into what I was like in the past. Also some of it is funny. The rest of the stuff I’ve just gotta do in categories. But I’d been procrastinating and had been too busy for at least two weeks and needed a push so I told myself I’d get this deck if I finished.

I’m looking forward to it because it has a unique perspective and take on each card that makes me go β€œhuh!” It looks like it’ll be a little bigger though, but that’s okay. I am running out of space on my tarot cabinet/shelf thing though. I might have found one janky solution but I’m gonna try and look for a taller shelf.

I have treated myself to the Autumn Wilds Seasonal Companion for the Forager's Daughter Tarot.

Not as huge long study I might flunk out of before the end, jusr 4 weeks of lovelines!

She does send to UK, as well as her home USA, and P&P isn't too badf. Limited numbers I believe, so grab one if you like the deck too?

@Ferrea and all: The Lubanko is the deck I bought because one card, The Hierophant, caught my eye. The rest of the deck is good, too, Totally readable and comes with a few unique views of the cards. I like it and definitely think you would, too.

Divinations for Uncertain Days; An Almanac of Birds arrived.

Maria Popova is an author/poet who chose a bird from 19th century guides before bed, read its entry and looked at the art, then in the morning created a poem using only words from the entry. I tend to be drawn to certain phrases in a reading. The poems are encouragement to be present, embrace uncertainty, and understand ourselves and others. At times dense, because of restricting herself to 19th century texts, but I like the idea of that.

Half the proceeds go to the Audubon Society.

My photo's a little blurry, but it’s at her Marginalian site.

I came across a couple of used decks in very good condition at a bargain price batting-eyelashes

At the top of the picture is a 1986 version of Thoth with 3 Magus/Magician cards.

And at the bottom, a Spanish first edition of Tarot Secreto (Eng: Secret Tarot) from 1998.

I saw it yesterday the Museum of Witchcraft and Magic in Boscastle, but didn't know enough about to buy it. But having had a look online at some of the cards, I have ordered it from them, along with the book.

Does anyone here use it?

Oh Pathwalker it's wonderful. You'll love it.

A week ago, I was gifted with the Cats Rule the Earth Tarot, a lovely deck - it's in Dutch, a beautiful language that I can read, albeit not speak. The excitement of getting a new deck into my collection, in addition to the need to get a new Llwellyn tarot calendar for 2027, inspired me to buy two new decks.

The Woodland Wardens Tarot by Jessica Roux. I own and love her oracle and the Good Fortune Tarot. So of course I have to complete the set with the Woodland Wardens Tarot, which seems like a link between these two decks. Her art is detailed, gentle and well-observed, but also imaginative.

The Mindscapes Tarot by John A. Rice. I love landscape paintings, and I have a subcollection of landscape-inspired decks already (the Flow Tarot, the Landscapes of the Soul, Majestic Earth and Pastoral Tarot which includes figures but puts them in specific landscape settings that really add to the meaning of the cards). The Mindscapes Tarot looks beautiful, and it's done in oil pastels, quite an unusual medium for tarot cards. Ink and watercolour or nowadays computer graphics are much more often used, but oil pastels have weight and depth, and when I look at the pictures, they resonate with me.

Let's hope I won't have to wait too much, and I'm very happy and excited. There is no anticipation like deck anticipation!
