Editing Comments or Posts

Hey everyone I'm still new and figuring things out, I was just wondering if it's possible to edit a comment you've made (ex. typo) or a blog posts (or any post) to add or delete info, I can't seem to find a way to do so.

In the past, some new members abused the editing feature and so we had to restrict its function for regular use. Everyone on the forum can edit posts for up to 60 minutes after posting. But then it locks you out. Subscribers and members who reach 1000 posts can edit unlimitedly. To edit within the time frame, on the blogs you need to press the entry actions button. Outside the blogs you select the menu on the right hand corner of the post (3 dots).

 

If you want to put an image in the post, we can edit it if you want (as moderators) and insert it. Just let us know what you want put in. We recommend attaching images, rather than links which might break later. Or if you want to reupload the post, we can delete the old one, just let us know.

 

Just a word about the blogs. We don't allow readings for other people as we don't have permission legally. We only allow people's own readings for themselves around the forum. Secondly, the blogs are public on the net, which is something you might want to consider. The Journals area in the forum is an area which is members only viewable if you want privacy. You can have a thread in both places, but just wanted to let you know the privacy difference if it is a reading personal to you 🙂

@DanielJUK ohh thank you so much! i saw that some people had this edit bar to show viewers they had edited their comment and I was looking everywhere to see where I could do the same, I used the 3 dots but it didn't show up so I was stumped. Thanks for the note on privacy it doesn't bother but it's still a nice tidbit to know thanks for your help!

Is it true that if you reply to a blog post as an unsubscribed member you have no option of editing your reply or am I facing a technical issue?

You should be able to edit your blog comment within 60 mins of posting with the .... menu on the right-hand side. Does it let you do that?

If you cannot edit it, PM me and I will edit any changes you want 🙂 .

The Blog Comments editing problem has been solved now, so it's working again for all members 🙂
