EmpyreanKnight Posted January 12, 2018 Posted January 12, 2018 The third release in the Anima Antiqua line, is a deck called Minchiate. A regional variation of Tarot with 97 cards, the Minchiate had additional Trumps based on Astrology. This deck, made in Florence, is one of the most beautiful Minchiate ever printed. Numbered Edition, limited to 2,999 copies. 97 full colored cards & instructions
EmpyreanKnight Posted January 12, 2018 Author Posted January 12, 2018 Before I forget: ISBN: 9788865275320 Size: 58mm X 100mm Yup, they're smaller than most Tarot decks and are almost poker-sized. Most Minchiates are, with the exception of Brian Williams's set (which I also have and which I personally find awesome). The stated publication date is June 25 2018, which is strange since other sources say it's a May 2018 release: http://www.bgkorea.com/tarot/7-Minchiate-Etruria---Limited-edition-출간예약.jpg[/img]
sandrang123 Posted January 12, 2018 Posted January 12, 2018 I have this deck but have never read very well with it. Shame, because I also study astrology!
EmpyreanKnight Posted January 12, 2018 Author Posted January 12, 2018 Yup, those sets are crazy expensive now. I was looking for Minchiate decks just last year, and my eyes fairly goggled at the price of those LoS sets. I also think that it was only printed a few years ago, so it must have sold like hotcakes. I have both their Sola Busca and Mitelli from their Anima Antiqua line, so I know that this is going to be another high-quality production for them. Once it's out I'm going to snap it up before it's gone gone gone. :)
sandrang123 Posted January 12, 2018 Posted January 12, 2018 Why is the price so high? (Maybe I'll sell mine...it's just sitting in my drawer!) Do you find the deck easy to read? I've had tons of decks, and this is the hardest I have, in terms of reading. Never quite understood why...
gregory Posted January 12, 2018 Posted January 12, 2018 It's a limited ed, is why. This does refer to their new edition, in the pretty lift top box, not the one from years ago. It is very lovely.
EmpyreanKnight Posted January 12, 2018 Author Posted January 12, 2018 I only have the Minchiate set by Brian Williams but I haven't unsealed it yet so I don't know how it would resonate with me. That said, its companion book is said to be the best Minchiate guide currently in the market. A person I know has the LoS set tho, so I can get my hands on the companion book and just get this Anima Antiqua Minchiate Etruris to approximate your set, Sandra. :P Also: you're sitting on a gold mine.

CORRECTION to this post. I went searching for the booklet that accompanied the deck today (didn't find it, but found tons of others). THAT said, I did find the cover card for the deck, which reads: "Antiche Minchiate Etruria" then "stampate in Firenze nel 1725" then "Lo Scarabeo Antico" then "a cura di Pietro Alligo, Torino 1996". So the edition I bought was from 1996, not 2000. I wish I could find the original box...it's got to be around here somewhere! ;) The card booklet I had that was written in another language was the Bruegel Tarot deck. Thank you for your reply. :-* I purchased this deck way back when I lived in Durham, so it must have been somewhere between 1999 or 2000 or somewhere around that time. I no longer have the box or book, though I recall the book had multiple languages (and wasn't very useful, if I recall). But the Minchiate deck I see on Facade has brighter colors than mine, which are, in contrast, more muted. Do have all 97 cards, though--all accounted for. I tried reading the deck today and still couldn't get my brain around it! :)
EmpyreanKnight Posted January 20, 2018 Author Posted January 20, 2018 Oh yes, the Antiche Minchiate Etruria is deck only. The LWB is written by Giordano Berti, and is in Italian.
EmpyreanKnight Posted January 20, 2018 Author Posted January 20, 2018 Does anyone have the Minchiate Fiorentine or the Tarocco Fiorentino published by Solleone with the booklet written by Constante Constantini? Kindly reply here or PM me if you'd prefer that. I do not plan to trade or buy/sell decks because that is against forum rules. I have something big planned for the Minchiate tho and this is all about info. Thanks!
EmpyreanKnight Posted March 18, 2018 Author Posted March 18, 2018 I just noticed that in its Llewellyn page, the deck's release was pushed from May to September this year. I ain't complaining tho, as this means that I won't be breaking my vow. :)
gregory Posted March 18, 2018 Posted March 18, 2018 I have both the Solleone decks, EK. What did you want to know ?
EmpyreanKnight Posted March 19, 2018 Author Posted March 19, 2018 Sent you a PM. Thanks, gregory. ^-^
