Greetings!
My name is George and i am a Greek, now living in Scotland.

My first interaction with the Tarot was as a kid, a long time ago, back in the early 90's.
A TV guide magazine was giving as a "gift" a Major Arcana only cardboard cutout sheet, which fascinated me and inspired me to get my first "real" deck (a 1JJ Swiss Tarot)

My reading skills haven't improved since then (), but i now have a greater appreciation of the artistic beauty, rich history and symbolism of the Tarot, and i enjoy getting new decks.
Nice to be here!

Welcome to the community @georgebal313, glad you have found us here 😀:animated-smileys-signs-085::78496:

There used to be great decks with magazines and also specific divination magazines where you could collect a whole deck of cards!

Welcome George! I'm new here as well. I visited Greece this past May and It's so gorgeous there! I've always dreamt of one day visiting because of stories my great-grandmother told, she is originally from Thessaloniki. During my trip I went to Athens, Rhodes and a few of the Greek islands. Which part of Greece are you from??

My parents were from the islands (Crete and Santorini), but I’ve lived most of my life in Athens

Thanks! Nice to be here!

back in Greece (especially in the 80’s-90’s) Tarot was considered somewhat “evil”, so it was a rare exception to get something like that in a magazine.

even buying them was difficult. I remember only 1 bookstore in Athena selling decks, and slim pickings at that
