Hello,

I'm wondering how many of you here use Sibilla cards? I'm thinking of buying La Vera Sibilla for myself, but... I have Lenormand and a bunch of Tarot decks already! And I'm still very much a novice in these two.

For those who use Sibilla, can you compare it to Tarot and Lenny, and share any words of encouragement or discouragement? And please share some resources to help me learn as well :)

I am late to answer you here, but I adore the Sbilla oracle. I own two decks, the Gypsy Oracle and Every day Oracle. I like this system a lot, it is my own little intelligence service. I haven't found much information about them on the net nor books in English, so I use kipper/lenormands techniques focused on directions and far/near, no fixed significators. I need to say I am not good with the Sibilla, and it is because I have not found a teacher who is proficient in the traditional techniques, I do not even know what the traditional techniques for these decks are, so I just thought to myself, no intuition here, just common sense from what works with Lenormand and Kipper system.

I didn't realise this thread was made 😯 if you're still looking for a decent resource then this site is what I'd recommend:

https://moderatelyquicksilver.com/2020/01/30/vera-sibilla-master-post/

The above link are a more condensed version of Etienne's meanings, who is a Sibilla reader from Italy. He does have videos but they're in Italian. Transcriptions do exist (also in Italian) online, which are easy to translate but a bit hard to find. I can't link them though as they're on another forum. He goes into great detail about combinations, so if you can find it, it's worth translating.

Here's the first (of over 100) videos he's done on sibilla. You can translate the videos through YouTube's CC settings, but Italian doesnt always translate well... Still they're worth watching and making notes! 😁

No problem 😉 I hope it helps you get a deeper understanding of this great deck!

I have a word file I need to try and find, as I basically wrote up the transcription into a readable format to use as a cheat sheet. If I find it I'll share it here 😊

That would be so cool, thanks.

Edit: Perhaps I should start a weekly Sibilla draw 7 cards in this part of the board.

Thank you, @akiva

This is very exciting for me. Own the two decks for years, but really just now had the calmness in arse to try to figure the system out.

I have the Everyday Oracle like you do, it's very good! Though mine has the black boarders which don't hold up to heavy use very well 😇

You'll probably find with the meanings given it'll be easy reading them. Do you plan on using reversals?

Not sure. Do not feel good enough for it, but could try.

I have the white bordered version. Love it.

If you don't use reversals one card takes on a different meaning: Superbia. You read the reversed meaning for it (ego, etc) 😊

Cards becomes more negative RX or the card has properties one need to pay more attention to?

So when only reading the cards upright only (without reversals in the deck) Superbia takes on these meanings: vanity, pride, haughtiness, lack of humility, ego, set backs caused by the wrong attitude

Does that make it clearer? 😊

Yes, but is Superbia more nice upright?

When you read with reversals yes, it's a bit confusing 😅

So usually the meanings for superbia are like this:

Upright: Totality, wholeness, victory, triumph, a talisman, protection, increases good cards and decreases bad cards

Reversed: vanity, pride, haughtiness, lack of humility, ego, set backs caused by the wrong attitude

Totally opposite of each other. 😉

Some cards aren't opposites when reversed though. Like Amica, when she's reversed she offers help 😁

Wow.

That is a cool one.
