brunelleschisgold Posted August 17, 2023 Posted August 17, 2023 Hi! I'm new to this kind of spiritual experiences, but am recently convinced I've met my twin flame. I didn't even think I believed in that before all of this happened. Everything I read about twin flame connection has a very obsessive, almost unhealthy undertone to it. I have done a lot of reading on attachment theories lately, and the logic side of my brain started to convince myself that I was being crazy. The wild thing is while I'm very sucked into him, I want nothing but the best for him. Whether that be with or without me.
DanielJUK Posted August 18, 2023 Posted August 18, 2023 I should say I am not sure I believe in the concept of Twin Flames. I see as a negative concept that traps us ultimately, almost like a fairy tale story. But on the forum we respect everyone's different views and also I do believe in my divination that there are destined events in a person's life. So perhaps some partners and people in our lives are destined. I just feel uncomfortable with what the concept has become with spirituality and we get so many readings of people desperately trying to find that one. Most people will have more than that special one in their lives and that is perfectly normal 🙂 . I believe that a twin flame (if we agree on the concept) can also be a friend from learning about it, like it is not necessarily a partner or lover. I think the difference between being obsessed with someone and a twin flame connection is that there is still a connection when the emotions die down. Being obsessed with someone doesn't usually last long term. I think I have a special bond in some form with my best friend in the world and we are always there for each other. We might not talk for like a month but then she might need advice and support. The bond is always there. I used to be obsessed over some guy though but looking back I am so embarrassed about it. He flirted with me but ran hot and cold. It is much more healthy now and I feel empowered that I stepped away from him showing interest and then backing away when I was interested back. We are friends and I want nothing more! That was almost like an infatuation and it was unhealthy because I deserved someone who showed much more interest in me and didn't play with my emotions. I am a lot wiser now as a person 🙂 So for me, feeling obsessed with someone will eventually die down and with a real bond, it will still be there. I should say there is a very unhealthy type of obsession where someone is really annoying someone but I think it's normal to have an emotional feeling over someone in a less extreme sense. We all have felt a normal healthy infatuation with people in our lives and probably can't get them out of our thoughts. But those thoughts can consume us and we have to keep them in reality. There is always a line there between a healthy connection and fantasy.
Natural Mystic Guide Posted August 18, 2023 Posted August 18, 2023 Twin Flames Two bright, fully realized souls, who burn with a passion to create a better world merge to create one bright sun that radiates love outward. The primary reason twin flames join is to create explosions of creative energy that further their mission work. Twin flames can be recognized by their outward serving and giving orientation. Often these are romantic relationships, but they can be friendships and teacher student pairings as well. This connection is telepathic and so nurturing that a tangible energetic transfer can be felt when two of these partners hug each other. Twin flames are here to help raise the consciousness of the planet by modeling selfless love. When we empty ourselves and open our hearts wide open, we are filled with an unfathomable spiritual love from the Divine. Our hearts overflow. We are at peace and comfortable with who we are. This naturally flows outward to others. We are ready to partner. The primary goal of a relationship can transcend fulfillment of physical or emotional needs. We are here for All That Is. A conscious relationship calls forth the expression of the highest version of our authentic selves. This naturally results in greater connections with All That Is. The focus of Twin Flame couples develops an outward focus as they share their universal love beyond their own circle. NOTE: My concept of what constitutes a 'Twin Flames' relationship differs from most of what people refer to as 'Twin Flames' relationships -- which are more than likely karmic relationships that pull us in so that we can learn karmic lessons and then move on.
brunelleschisgold Posted August 21, 2023 Author Posted August 21, 2023 @Natural Mystic Guide I agree with you. I don’t feel any kind of sick obsession with him. Just more of a deep connection that feels a bit unexplained. I considered it being karmic, but it’s not toxic at all. Just deep care and consideration, but there were things he was hiding from me that ended up being way more interconnected with my circle than I realized and it’s a crazy story… basically brought all of my childhood wounds to the surface and I had to actually face myself for what feels like the first time. I had a profound awakening. In the meantime, we missed our opportunity. And that’s okay. I’m just fine with close friendship.
mirror_rune33 Posted February 11, 2024 Posted February 11, 2024 I have had a similar experience with who I think could be my twin flame… I go back and forth on if I truly believe he is or not because it makes me feel crazy, but there’s not another term I’ve come across that accurately sums up his significance… like we have a telepathic connection, he triggered a spiritual awakening, reflected all my deepest wounds (and I did the same for him, we were perfect mirrors of each other), and are currently in separation healing on our own… I don’t know that I have hope of him ever coming back into my life as anything (even as a friend), but I’m so grateful for the change in me due to him.
gregory Posted February 12, 2024 Posted February 12, 2024 I don't believe in twin flames; I do believe in kindred spirits (A term I stole from Anne of Green Gables as I think it;'s wonderful !) - and we can have more than one of those; a twin flame sounds - as @brunelleschisgold says, feels obsessive as a "concept." I have three kindred spirits in my life just now; I used to have 5 but two are long dead I know when they are unhappy or ill; we can almost read each other's minds and the like.
Sar Posted February 12, 2024 Posted February 12, 2024 @gregory I have a couple of kindred spirits too, It is so cool to have such fine people in life. Such a gift.
dariagypsy Posted March 10, 2024 Posted March 10, 2024 I believe twin flames are real, but I also think there can be "fake" twin flames too. A few years back, when I was traveling, I met someone who I immediately felt was my twin flame based on what I had read online. I just couldn't stop thinking about him, the connection and communication between us felt so great. But later on he ended up marrying someone else and just totally stopped talking to me out of nowhere. That's when I told him I wished him the best but hoped we could still stay in touch since our bond felt so strong. But he told me to stop contacting him and then blocked me without any explanation. So, in the end, I think with that situation, it was just an obsession on my part. Sometimes, it's hard to know if someone is your actual twin flame or if it's just intense feelings. But then, about a year ago, I met someone who I really believe is my real twin flame. Everything between us just flowed so naturally, without any pressure. We were both going through tough times, and that's when I realized twin flame relationships are never something you chase or try to rush; they just come into your life at the right moment.
