Decks by elements or astrological transits?

I know there are deck lists by season, however, I have recently started using one deck through each astrological transit and need suggestions and ideas of which decks seem to have a specific sign’s energy. For example, in Virgo season I used the Wayfarer Tarot. It really helped me have an even stronger connection to the astrological energy of daily life.

What decks would you use or recommend for these transits? Please share any that you feel relate or resonate with a specific transit and why, is it the images, the actual energy of the deck for you, the colors, etc. Thank you!

  1. Aries - I act/I am - self-awareness
  2. Taurus - I manifest/have - personal resources
  3. Gemini - I think - immediate environment
  4. Cancer - I feel/nurture - inner world
  5. Leo - I love/express - personal creativity
  6.  Virgo - I become/serve - daily life
  7. Libra - I receive/partner - awareness of others
  8. Scorpio - I protect/circulate - resources
  9. Sagittarius - I believe/explore - expanded horizons
  10. Capricorn - I decide/achieve - outer-world, self-discipline
  11. Aquarius - I belong/aspire - group contribution
  12. Pisces - I sense/dream - spiritual life

Maybe decks by specific Elements would be easier?

1. Fire

2. Water

3. Air

4. Pentacles

I found this YouTube video and she had a deck for each element.

Forgive me for saying ... this seems like tarot influencer stuff to me. Clever gimmicks to get clicks.

Decks hit differently for different people.

How can I relate a deck to an astro transit or an element in a way that would be meaningful to you?

Perhaps its possbile ... just seems too subjective ... and what's the point?

As an astrologer I connect cards with transits ... but not whole decks. And transits are quite complex. For example we've got Saturn and Jupiter both in retrograde just now. It definitely affected my personal readings ... regardless of the deck used.

Anyway, maybe share some of yours?

I just couldn't see it.

@Misterei, thank you for your reply. I liken this to be very similar to having decks used for different seasons; nothing really fancier than that.

Some of my ideas and some I found on a blog…

Aries could be Tarot Cats

Taurus The Wayfarer Tarot

Gemini maybe Whimsical Tarot
Cancer The Moon Garden

Leo Medieval Cat tarot
Scorpio possibly Tarot of Transformation or Crow’s Magick

Sagittarius Tarot of the Spirit

Capricorn Hermetic Tarot
Aquarius possibly Next World Tarot (I don’t have this deck so not really sure.)

Pisces deck would be oceanic, dreamy, Neptunian; maybe The Monsoon Tarot or Celestial Tarot

LOL I couldn't get into the seasonal decks thing either ... other than by colors. Plus i find Halloween tarot stuff cringe ... so there's that for autumn.

Other ppl got into it. I know I'm a scrooge.

I get Cap as Hermetic };> The rest? Not so much.

Prolly generational. Tarot consumerism is new ... and I'm a bit horrified when it comes down to it. Even tho I participate in it.

I grew up in a world where the only classifications were: RWS? TdM? Thoth?  And it was just RW back then. I'm happy we added Smith.

Anyhow ... there weren't so many decks that we had to worry how to classify them.

I got into collecting ... so I organized my decks into "families". But it seems less subjective than seasons or astro signs.

The "families" have to do with deck style or historic era. More technical less subjective.

If I organized my collection by astro sign ... I  would be quite at a loss.

Going off topic ... back before I left tarot reddit ... someone posted that Empress as a pregnant woman was offensive b/c it was "heteronormative". I found this unspeakably sad. They prolly would have liked the Aquarius deck, Next World. I dislike tarot with an axe to grind. I love the old 1400s Tarocchi decks. I love Fyodor Pavlov who can bend a gender yet still leave me feeling that I'm reading a TAROT. But I digress ...

I do find some decks have a seasonal energy even though they certainly could be used all year long. Like I do tend to pull out my Santa Muerte deck in October and November, but there isn’t any reason I couldn’t use it any time of year.

So true! The niche decks seem to be produced daily and have provided artists and other creatives opportunities for self-expression for sure.

In my efforts to find creative ways to use more of my decks it got me curious if other’s have used decks that seem to really connect, or lean into, an astrological energy or even a specific element. Not necessarily because they look the part, but because they express that way.

Like I feel SpiritKeeper’s Tarot, Morgan Greer, Hanson Roberts, The Arthurian Tarot, Thoth, Anna K, Druidcraft, Wildwood, to name a few,. could all have an energetic expression or delivery, but could easily be used any time of year.

Maybe it isn’t that common or popular. I am sure if I look through my decks, I can figure something out.

Thank you for sharing. 😊

That hits. Dia de Los Muertos isn't so commercialized as Halloween. Where I live people still go to the graveyards or make a dead relative's favorite dish.

I can see wanting to do a spread wih Santa Muerta deck on 2 November };>
