Hello My Name Is Tom

Featured Replies

I'm glad to have found this group, I used to be very active on AT and reviewed many tarot decks. I'm interested in learning how to read Oracle cards and discuss tarot decks. I'm hoping by studying these card systems that I can fulfill some spiritual need in my life. I am also a card collector.

Forgot to say, you are welcome to write any reviews on decks in the deck library above on a tab. You can add a review with stars to a deck entry. If you want to start a thread to review a deck, please do! Some memebers prefer to make a thread for it. We always welcome reviews from our members in whatever form they prefer 🙂

I would like to do that very much, are a few examples of cards allowed or is that considered to be copyright infringement.

I believe the format for this forum is that you post pix of 6 cards in a review. In some way I don't understand this conforms to copyright law.

You can see examples if you look for the review section.

Thanks for the information.  I have a few decks I'd like to review.

@Misterei is right, in the deck submissions for the library we say to share up to 6 tarot cards or 3 to 4 oracle cards. That would be fine for us in a thread review as we can say the whole deck is not shared here, just a sample of the cards 🙂

Copyright law allows for the reproduction of images for the purposes of writing criticism or reviews, under the auspices of 'Fair Usage'. However it would be polite to not use images of the entire deck, nor images that are high enough in resolution that it would enable them to be professionally reprinted. A few snaps of cards in a spread are allowable by copyright.

(Dang, can't link people yet. That was for Tom and Miserei)

Zeus I only want to post a picture of a few cards or the box cover in a review.  If I was submitting to the Library to would show only the allowable number.

There shouldn't be any problems with copyright in that case - though obviously, do follow site rules too 🙂
