Tom Posted December 1, 2023 Posted December 1, 2023 (edited) I was wondering how many people enjoy reading with seasonal or holiday decks. I have a really good Halloween deck, The Jack-O'-Lantern tarot that I picked up last month, very traditional RWS imagery only with Halloween motifs. I have a much older Halloween deck that has changed the pips to different objects I can't really relate to. Anyone do any readings with Christmas themed decks? I saw a very beautiful Parisian Lenormand Holiday season deck for sale on Estes. Would you use these decks anytime of year or just around the seasons in which they're commemorating? Libra 58 Posted December 1, 2023 Posted December 1, 2023 I have two seasonal decks, The Halloween Tarot that I have owned since 2011 and Yuletide Tarot that I bought this year 2023. I have not used any one of them, think that they are more eye candy than working decks. If I ever start using them I will probable only use them during December.
Rose Lalonde Posted December 1, 2023 Posted December 1, 2023 I don't have a seasonal tarot, but I do some light-hearted Halloween readings each year with the Monsters faction Gwent deck. That's fun, and something I only do in Oct. When posted here, they go in the oracles section, so I'm a little off topic for your question. 😅
DanielJUK Posted December 1, 2023 Posted December 1, 2023 We have reading circles for some of the seasons, there is a Summer one and a Yule one and Halloween / Samhain and it's really fun! Getting decks that fit that type and getting into the energy of it. We do have some seasonal discussions about which tarot deck for each season? Please add to them.... We'll complete Spring and Summer next year.
Morwenna Posted March 3 Posted March 3 I have and love the Halloween Tarot; I wasn't aware of any others themed for this holiday. As for Christmas/Yuletide, last I looked I couldn't find anything appropriate but then I haven't looked since the demise of the AT forum. The only decks I've bought at all since then are ones I actually bumped into, or came across a reference from some other source. And back then (is it almost 8 years ago already??) there were only a couple people who were working on such a deck. I really need to get out more!
Tom Posted March 3 Author Posted March 3 There is the Yuletide tarot which is very contemporary. They sell it on Amazon.
