Morwenna Posted November 18, 2024 Posted November 18, 2024 Side note--hubby once replied to a person who was touting the benefits of Kindle or whatnot over physical books by taking the paperback out of his pocket, whacking it hard on the table and saying, "Your turn!" I just realized I have more than one deck here in the spare room instead of being in the bedroom with the others... hmm...
RunningWild Posted December 8, 2024 Author Posted December 8, 2024 I do have books on a kindle. Lots of them. But I generally don’t put reference material on it. I find it’s great for travel and for reading what I refer to as ‘beach books’. You know, those books that take little brain power to get through and are just entertaining enough to keep you occupied for a couple hours. Digital tarot decks? No. Just no.

I use reference material on ebooks. Why? It's so easy to search and find what I want using the search function. I actually have come to prefer ebook format for reference books. Also, because I live in Bali, it is prohibitively expensive to pay for shipping and customs on books. Plus I live in a very small house with little room for more books. Tarot decks: yes. Most books: no.
Raggydoll Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 Could we get back to sharing pics of peoples collections? I love that stuff 😍
DanielJUK Posted December 10, 2024 Posted December 10, 2024 Just reminding everyone of the purpose of this thread:- Quote This is the place to share pictures and discuss your collection. Do you have a tarot room and how do you store everything?
Tom Posted December 11, 2024 Posted December 11, 2024 I now have 3 cabinets for my cards as my collection keeps growing and plenty of shelf space for new decks. I love Tarot and oracle decks. I have some out of print ones that are getting big bucks, but I don’t want to sell off any of them right now.
heaven Posted April 28, 2025 Posted April 28, 2025 (edited) I have a small collection of decks and oracles (less than 20) but my pride and joy is the Yoshitaka Amano Tarot. He is one of my favorite artists and when I found out many years ago that he'd made a deck, it became my most sought for. Finally, maybe 2-3 years ago, I was able to find it more affordably. The deck is out of print, but pops up semi frequently on auction. It was printed in the mid 90s, I believe. It comes with a full paperback guidebook with spreads and information, fully printed in Japanese. Though he is probably most known for his concept art for a particularly famous video game series, he is a contemporary / gallery artist with a distinct style and a staggering body of work across genres and mediums. I say this as I have heard this deck dismissed as a generic 'anime' styled deck, to which I strongly disagree, even aside my bias! It isn't for everyone by any means, nor in style nor voice. it reads beautifully with a mysterious, almost guarded air. I only find it difficult to read with, because I'd rather look at the artwork aha. I do wish each card were fully illustrated. Photos below are not mine, but for perusal. This is a pip deck with fully illustrated majors and royal families. Edited April 28, 2025 by heaven
EMarieHasADHD Posted July 26, 2025 Posted July 26, 2025 This is just my latest acquisition, but I had to share with you all. The Buffy the Vampire Slayer Tarot deck. I’m a HUGE BTVS fan so I’m super excited to get this one! 🥰
Tanga Posted August 12, 2025 Posted August 12, 2025 My Favourite decks live at the end of my bed (little space here. There's about 30 decks). The ones in plastic tubs are for daily draw (easy to get in-&-out), and the floral bag is my "go bag" - grab, check appropriate decks are inside, and go to read for someone, or to a Tarot MeetUp. The rest of my collection is: 1 large plastic tub at the bottom of the closet. 1 large plastic tub under the stairs on the ground floor. And recently - a plastic tub in the garage with decks I no longer want... but will need a proper new home as some of them are OOP.
zurgles Posted October 15, 2025 Posted October 15, 2025 (edited) I keep my cards in a sort of dresser’s shelf. The oracle and miscellaneous decks are on the sides. I have them in a particular order that makes it easy to find them. There’s 27 tarot decks, 5 oracle decks, 2 playing card decks, and 2 therapy card decks. I hadn’t used the therapy cards much. I need bags for a few of them and am looking into getting some. edit: old but up to date pictures of my tarot deck collection Edited October 15, 2025 by zurgles
Nemia Posted January 11 Posted January 11 I keep tweaking my tarot collection and books. They're all in my study, where I keep my most precious things. My boxes are actually baking trays, they're the perfect size and they're open. I like to see what I have. For many of my decks, I have crochet bags or simple organza bags, and if I don't need the original box, I keep it close. Each box is labeled with the name of the sub-collection. Now that I have bought a little thermo printer, I'll probably print nice new labels... I also keep incense in the boxes so my decks smell nice. I also keep my tarot journals, spread maps and tarot books in the same shelves. And my little altar as well. It's a bit crowded so I might re-organise the whole thing again soon... it may look a bit chaotic, but I can always find what I'm looking for. I like Clutterbug's system of organising styles. There are visual organisers who have to see what they have. If they're detailed, they're called Bees, and if they prefer general categories, they're Butterflies. Then there are organisers who like to keep everything in closed containers. The detailed non-visual organisers are the Crickets, and those who put everything in large categories are the Ladybugs. I have noticed that in my kitchen, I'm a Cricket, and I like keeping stuff in closed containers in the bathrooms as well. Actually, the only areas where I keep everything visual are my art supplies, my books and my tarot things. So it's a little busy Bee hive here.... and I love seeing how we all keep our collections safe and happy. (The nicest thing about the Clutterbug system is that the creator, Cass, emphasises we all have to organise according to our styles. I like this acceptance-based system. There is no right or wrong way of organising, only the way that makes you happy and is easy to keep up over time.)
Chariot Posted January 11 Posted January 11 (edited) @zurgles - What is the name of the tarot deck in your bottom photo ...the one to the right of The Tarot Of Magical Correspondences? The Queen of Swords is the top card. That looks like a VERY interesting deck, and it appeals to me. If you want to answer, you can PM me, so we don't derail this thread. 🙂 Edited January 11 by Chariot
