The Dali Deck Set

An early Christmas present to myself.  I've wanted the Dali Set since I started collecting.  I could never afford it until now.  Amazon had a deep discounts on it. It's a very large box, made it of wood with a felt covering.  The book that covers covers it is very comprehensive.  The cards come in a golden box. The cards are gorgeous, created by Salvador Dali and his wife, and they appear in some of the cards. 

Many based on famous works of art. 

 

I funny story. Daily read commissioned to create a  Tarot Deck for the Bond movie Live and Let Die.  The studio didn't like what he was doing so he was fired from the project. What we call, The Tarot of the Witches, was the deck ultimately created for the movie. 

 

There was a limited number of these were printed.  This is a fine art collectable, I'm not using the deck to read with. I just hope the felt cover for box's for does not dry out over time.

Taschen also has an affordable Bibliotheca Universalis book on Dali. Might make a good pair with this.

 

I have their volume on the complete paintings of Klimt, and it helped me understand the Golden Klimt Tarot more. TBH though, that might be because the deck only has an LWB to buttress it, unlike yours which has a full companion book.
