Laura Borealis Posted February 11, 2024 Posted February 11, 2024 It's not that I won't read with an expensive deck, I will sometimes, but I usually do use cheaper mass market decks. One thing I've experienced is my more expensive ones being less usable. Cardstock too stiff for easy riffling, or too fragile. I'm not picky about cardstock but if it takes special care then I'm not going to reach for it often. Fortunately most of my favorite decks are already mass market ones. Now with blank books/journals? I absolutely prefer a cheap notebook, like a composition book or spiral bound. I live in fear of messing up a nice blank book. I've tried! I have forced myself to use them but inevitably I misspell a word or want to revise something and then that blot is forever there. I don't mind in a cheap notebook though. I'm free to scrawl and be sloppy. My current tarot notebook is a crappy little spiral bound from the grocery store.
gregory Posted February 11, 2024 Posted February 11, 2024 Notebooks.... I have one I sort of jot down odd notes in and then forget ever to look again till I have another thing to jot down. But it is a cheap spiral bound one - I prefer that so I can rip out pages I don't want or need any more. It's a cheap one bought in France - which does mean it has an elastic that flips round it - I do like that, to stop it flipping open and getting trodden on and torn. I am not a NEAT person.....

In case anything happens to them, I won't be able to repurchase. On 12/25/2023 at 7:44 AM, Misterei said: Do you get more pleasure or enjoyment from expensive / quality / limited edition decks? I get my pleasure from the fact the deck is readable, something I can use predictive. Great art is not always needed in that case. And price is no "predictor" of prediction accuracy };> @Sar said << ... so I can replace it immediately when deck is no longer readable. >> LOL I now have enough decks this issue doesn't arise. But back in the day I had only one RWS deck. I would wear it out and then go buy a new one just like it. I burnt the old ones.

I tend to go for the same decks all the time because of the energies they give me and proved readable, so when they can't be usable anymore, I want another copy of it.
Maryna Posted February 15, 2024 Posted February 15, 2024 My most expensive deck costs $50. I like the quailty of the cardboard and how my deck looks like after more than a year of reading, so i think $50 is a good price for good energy.
