BrightEye Posted January 4, 2024 Posted January 4, 2024 Does anybody have the Knapp-Hall tarot and read with it? It's one of the decks in my relatively large collection that I continue to the drawn to but haven't yet had time to read up on. However, I feel drawn to read with it.
Scandinavianhermit Posted January 4, 2024 Posted January 4, 2024 Most of the time, it isn't available anywhere, or it is sold at a ridiculously high price. If there existed an available and reasonably priced edition, I would buy it. Much of the content in Oswald Wirth's Tarot of the Magicians is applicable to Knapp-Hall Tarot, too. They belong to the same family of decks. Lasenic belong to that family of decks as well.

It was most likely in a trade on Aeclectic. It's a wonderful deck! But I'm struggling to read the minors.
Morwenna Posted March 3 Posted March 3 I got mine years ago from a bookseller at a science fiction convention; they'd had a couple copies on their shelves like forever. So one day I caved and bought one. It was just old enough that the cost was pretty low. Evidently I got lucky! Now I know that the reading method is a bit different and there are some symbols on the cards that I have no idea about, and I think someone on AT might have posted something about it (I'll have to check) but no, I never did try reading with it, because I want to read up on all that stuff first and I have not been diligent about this.

Manly P. Hall wrote a bit about it, but it's useless for reading the cards. But take heart. It's Picard based. Get this book: https://www.amazon.com/Synthetic-Practical-Manual-Tarot-Picard/dp/1989586805 There's actually several variations of decks like that. The wonderful Tarot Fortune Cards (Thomson Leng): And El Gran Tarot Esoterico: And a few others. I'm surprised more people aren't into it. It's a wonderful system. You can get the Picard deck here: https://noreahbrownfield.com/product/eudes-picard-tarot/
Morwenna Posted March 3 Posted March 3 I've said it before and I'll say it again: I want a Thomson Leng!
