The Lenormand has a new home.

LENORMAND DOES NOT BELONG IN DIVINATION.

 

 

Needs to be moved to its own sub-area or whatever as it is not like using stones, mirrors, sticks, paper, crystal balls, divining rods, mobile phones, flower petals, toilet paper, dominoes, Mah Jong, tiles, herbs, bones, Chinese sticks, Runes  etc etc etc.

 

There are 36 cards made of cardboard that have images, words and/or numbers on them.  ;D ;D ;D

Hi! Thanks for sharing your thoughts, DownUnderNZer[/member]. Technically, everything on this forum is divination ;) But I think I understand the point you're making.

 

Do you want Lenormand to have its own complete section because it's card-based? Would you be happier, for example, if there was an "Other Cartomancy" section, which included all types of card readings besides tarot and oracle decks? (eg playing cards, Kipper?)

 

This question goes out to everyone. Let's discuss! :D

Yes! I very much want Lenormand to have its own section! I think it would be okay to house it in a section with other card systems that aren't Tarot.

 

From the subject title, however, I thought this thread would be more about a philosophical statement. If it were that, I would say, yes, Lenormand is more like diagramming a sentence than divination.

That is an awesome way of putting it!  I love it!  As for calling the category something we might think about Fortune Telling Cards.  That includes playing cards, Lenormand, Gypsy Witch, Kipper, Mantegna, etc...

I haven't looked for it yet - as I'm only JUST beginning to learn - but... there should be a separate section for other card styles imo (Lenormand, Sybilla, Kipper, plain playing cards, etc.).  ;D ;D

I was kind of just thinking in Oracles, but I suppose it is its own system and style.

 

Even if it is with the Kipper as they are cousins.

 

As long as it is in a card section and maybe not distracting the flow of that one.
