Carojulie Posted February 8, 2018 Posted February 8, 2018 Sounds great! I hope you can use it for some future TdM/Historical Circles. (hint hint ;)) I hear you ! :)
Carojulie Posted February 8, 2018 Posted February 8, 2018 Caroljulie, I love those modern TdMs too. Gorgeous. Thank you ! Yes, I like them a lot. The Pole Ka is quite dark and has a sort of gorish sense of humour though... and the Coudpiéocculte is totally irreverent.
BlueToy Posted February 9, 2018 Posted February 9, 2018 The Corte dei Tarocchi gives me life, Carojulie. <3 I like its aesthetic a lot. When I looked it up, I can't believe it's just a recent creation. I thought it was an antique deck or something. Also - does it really have golden tints? It's a real art production. The cardstock is really thick (you can't really riffle shuffle it), and has a nice slight vertical ribbing texture thingie. The style reminds me of more primitive examples of medieval art. I read somewhere that the artist used an acid-based technique to achieve the soft textures in the cards. I'd have to re-check the deck to confirm if it has gold flourishes. Also love the Maddonni and le Tarot Noir.
katrinka Posted February 9, 2018 Posted February 9, 2018 All of those Carojulie posted. I'm an Il Meneghello fiend, I love my Babas (I have the Mythical Creatures in the wooden box), there are sooooo many lovely pip decks. The Knapp-Hall is another one: And the Lasenic! I can't name a favorite. I'm enamored of sooooo many. <3

Flaxen Posted February 9, 2018 Posted February 9, 2018 I had a stroke of luck today - went to London and visited a bookshop for a browse, they had the beautiful Oriental tarot in stock! Needless to say I bought it. ;D
Bookworm Posted February 9, 2018 Posted February 9, 2018 Congratulations, Flaxen! That is a beautiful deck.
Carojulie Posted February 9, 2018 Posted February 9, 2018 This Lasenic is SOOO on my wish list, Katrinka ! And yes Blue Toy, le Tarot Noir ! At the top of my wish list also !
Guest Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 So many to love! I agree, the Oriental Tarot and the Lasenic are really beautiful. There's a few other unique ones I love, but fair warning a lot of the following are OOP...Still, worth honorable mentions (and gettable if you really hunt ;)). The Tarot du Roy Nissanka is fun. And the Piatnik Wien. http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/cards/roy-nissanka/ http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/cards/piatnik-wien/ The Tarot de Louttre B I also find beautiful in its simplicity. http://tarotgarden.com/louttre-b-tarot/ And the Tarocchi Fine Dalla Torre, which is still readily available, is stunning! My favorites though have to be Flornoy's Dodal TdM, and the Tarot de Bologna.
