Questions About Posting to Blogs

I have some questions about posting replies to blogs.

 

I am a private person. I haven't been replying in anyone's blogs because I know some blogs are public. I am known publicly as "fire cat pickles" outside of the Tarot world, so I do not have complete anonymity,  unfortunately. 

 

How can we tell if a blog is private or public? At times, I would like to reply to a blog, if it were private.

 

Also, could a member revert a blog from private to public in the future? I wouldn't want my private posts made public at a later date.

The Blogs are all public, it's possible to make a private one, they call them "private blogs". But really they are just adding forum members names individually who can view it. You cannot add everyone logged in or anything, so I think people don't really use that feature. I don't think anyone has made one, some people tried it out and didn't like them when this feature was added about a year ago. The blogs have annoying limitations about privacy, which we cannot do anything about.

 

You can either make a private or public blog, you can't switch after making one.

It's best to just think of them as public and the replies as public

Do you mean you can only have one blog? Either a private one or public one? I was curious about the character and features of a private blog, since I was thinking about using it to store personal notes and weblinks for later use in my public blog. But I couldn't find any way to create one. This is because I already have a public blog?

 

If so, can you change the text on the blogs page? It says Each member (TT&M Family and above) is allowed to have 1 Public Blog and 1 Private Blog.

If you have a private blog and don't fill in any member's names, it's only you (and the forum staff) who can see you posts 🙂 

I will investigate why it's not letting you take out one of each.

 

Many members take out Journals (here), you can specify your intention, members can reply or you can say keep to yourself. Some people use them as private scrapbooks for their study notes. Only members signed in and over 5 posts can view them. They are normal forum threads but designed to be your own space in the forum.

You managed to post a few blog posts, that's pretty proficient!

It's hard to find your way around the place at first and get used to all the features 🙂
