Aparna Posted August 17, 2024 Posted August 17, 2024 Can anyone explain when we do any tarot readings then there is a thing called top of the deck and bottom of the deck ? What's that I am really confused!!! It's that mandatory to see these???
gregory Posted August 17, 2024 Posted August 17, 2024 Put the deck down on the table. Most of us draw cards from the top as it sits there. Some people like to look at the one on the bottom - and some even see that card as having a specific function.. It isn't remotely mandatory - indeed, if you want to you can draw them, all from the bottom. You're the reader; it;s your choice. But I think this thread probably belongs in another section - it isn't exactly business -, so I am going to ask a mod to move it.
DanielJUK Posted August 17, 2024 Posted August 17, 2024 I've moved this thread to Tarot Talk & Technique and changed the title to fit better what the discussion is about 🙂  @Aparna Do you mean dealing from the top or bottom into a spread or looking at the card on the top or bottom? It's really however you want to do it 🙂 Some people look at the bottom of the deck for a base card, an overview of the reading or the "foundation" of the question / topic asked.  Here is an older thread which might be useful to you....
