I love the music links! It's a wonderful touch, Toadie and Marisa! I have playlists I listen to when I read. If I have a few readings back to back (3 or 4) I really get in the zone and light the incense, put on a wax melt, and fire up my playlists. Even though Industrial music is my favorite music (Rammstein is my favorite band) but for card reading I like music from India, Binaural beats and other types of mind music and trip hop.

I’ve always found reversed cards interesting because they can completely change the tone of a reading. Sometimes I see them as blocked or delayed energy, while other times I feel the upright meaning is still present but expressed differently. How do you personally work with reversed cards? Do you always use them, or do you prefer reading only upright cards?

I’ve noticed that the way a question is phrased can really change how I approach a tarot reading. A very broad question can sometimes produce a broad message, while a more specific question gives the cards a clearer context to work with. Do you usually spend time refining your question before a reading, or do you prefer to let the cards guide the direction? 🔮

I had a discussion with another Tarot reader recently who insisted that every card was positive and none of them should be read negatively. Even the Tower card. And reversals? Forget it. Since the human imagination is limitless I can envision a pathway to taking that approach, but it doesn't strike me as either realistic or healthy. Pretending that negativity doesn't exist by refusing to recognize it, in fact by forcing only positivity on Tarot readings, strikes me as fakery. I think accuracy in a tarot reading is often less about predicting one exact event and more about how well the cards reflect the situation and emotions involved. For me, context makes a big difference. The same card can feel completely different depending on the question and the surrounding cards. What makes a reading feel genuinely accurate or meaningful to you? 🔮

I’m curious what everyone thinks. For me, The Moon can be one of the harder cards to interpret because it can point to intuition, uncertainty, hidden information, fear, or simply not seeing the full picture yet. Which card do you personally find the most difficult to interpret, and why?

I know so little about tarot that I'm not even sure how to make 5 quality posts. A lot of the discussions are way over my head lol. There's also a lot of good information in this part of the forums alone, but there's an overwhelming amount for me. It seems I am well and truly The Fool. I hope this is the right place to post this. I want to avoid using Amazon but I need some recommendations for good alternatives for Tarot, preferrably in the EU (because of customs). Where do you get your mass market decks? I want to buy a couple of new ones but I'm having a hard time finding them elsewhere.

Hello all, while I've had my tarot deck for a while, it's only now that I'm just starting to use them. One of the ways I decided to practice doing readings was to try to get to know my deck using an interview spread I found on Pinterest, as well as asking it what sort of crystals it would like me to use to recharge it. So I'm curious, how do others in this forum get to know their new decks? Who else likes to interview their decks and what sort of questions do they ask? Or what other ways are there, other than simply using the deck over a period of time?

Hi everyone! I want to start reading reversals, but I feel I can’t randomize the orientation of the cards very well. I can’t really riffle very well, and I haven’t figured out a method to randomize the orientation of the cards without riffling. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

I'm quite new to this wonderful community and I've been reading back through the older journal threads here rather than starting a new one, and I noticed something in them I haven't seen discussed on its own. Several people describe writing a reading up twice. Paper first, in the moment — then transferring it to something digital later, and finding that the second version comes out longer. One person described the paper version as the first go at the spread, with the digital one being where it gets fine-tuned.
