Thought we could have a thread like it's sister the Kickstarter Decks thread but for new decks coming out which are not via crowdfunding

This is a thread of deck release news that members are interested in and / or the community would be. Thoughts and discussion on the posts are welcome.

 

Thread Rules

 

- This thread is for deck announcements, new issues, new editions and date announcements. Not decks that are just new to you. Links or photos with the decks are helpful

- You can start a separate thread to the deck individually as well as here if you want a greater discussion on it. Both are fine.

- This isn't the place to promote your own deck's release, it needs to go in Promote Yourself and you need to be a subscriber to post in it

- This isn't the place for crowdfunders for new decks, that thread is here

Taroteca-Studio have a new deck coming out called Fairy Tale Journey Tarot they announced.

Pre-orders opened yesterday and the deck will be sent out at the end of November.

It has 3 versions....

- 12cm with black matte edges (silk matte lamination)
- 12cm with gold matte edges (slightly shiny lamination, with a linen texture)
- 14cm with gold matte edges (silk matte lamination)

 

"This is a beautifully hand-drawn Tarot deck with a unique, fairy tale atmosphere,
in an elegant box imitating the shape of a book"

 

 

The box is so cute and closes with a magnet! There is 78 cards.

They will send out decks in order of when ordered, so pre-orders will get it first at the end of Nov

I checked out your link, and the deck certainly looks interesting.  I also managed to correctly guess the card depicted on the front of the box, which bodes well.

Seeing it all spread out (major arcana only so far) I am inclined to maybe want to have it, but only because it looks interesting and ornate.  The card designs seem too busy for me to use them for reading.  I am drawn more toward cards with very distinct pictures on them.

When I'm doing a reading of, say, 10 cards ...and I use reversals ...it's nice to be able to see at a glance what the cards are.  I think I'd be forever peering at these and having to pick each one up to get a better look before actually starting an interpretation.  I also don't think this deck would read well in dim light (I use candles and salt lamps, mostly.)  However, this does look like a really beautiful work of art.
