Deian Posted November 4, 2024 Posted November 4, 2024 Hi,! I was wondering what members think about the blog here: https://artofcartomancy.blogspot.com From one point of view he has put so much effort into this... Yet from another... Members mentioned they use the finding items/pets approach from here. And it looks solid at first glance, have meaning of all cards for that here: https://artofcartomancy.blogspot.com/2019/09/locating-lost-objects-with-cartomancy.html But then if we look at his example of that that is used in practice here: https://artofcartomancy.blogspot.com/2019/10/cartomancy-answer-spread-for-finding.html He doesn't seem to use any of the card definitions he seem to have put so much effort to write. For example: Cat Case: "These cards showed that the cat was in an environment (5 of Diamonds) that is warm and safe and secure (10 of Hearts)." Definition: "10 of Hearts – on a high shelf, upstairs, the attic, the roof, a sunny area, to the south, " Definition: "5 of Diamonds – dining room, sideboard, a large piece of furniture" Cat Case: "The 5 of Diamonds specifically suggests an urban environment (the city)." Definition: "5 of Diamonds – dining room, sideboard, a large piece of furniture" Cat Case: "2 of Hearts – child’s room, with pet’s toys, where you expect it to be." Definition: "The 2 of Hearts can represent a child or a pet. " Cat Case: "...but with the 2 of Clubs suggesting help or assistance. " Definition: "2 of Clubs – backpack, purse, bag" Can go into more, yet overall it seems he doesn't actually follow his own material?!Or am I missing something, members say that system works, ok, but how can that be possible? He isn't even using it himself... Don't want to be not-super-positive about his material, he obviously has done a great effort and people like it, just trying to understand if that can actually work in practice, so to know if its worth it spending time and research on this. : )

And it looks solid at first glance, have meaning of all cards for that here: https://artofcartomancy.blogspot.com/2019/09/locating-lost-objects-with-cartomancy.html If you read the meanings on the page closely, they mostly indicate areas within the house. A few don't of course, but it's safe to say it's for misplaced items within the home 😄 2 hours ago, Deian said: But then if we look at his example of that that is used in practice here: https://artofcartomancy.blogspot.com/2019/10/cartomancy-answer-spread-for-finding.html He doesn't seem to use any of the card definitions he seem to have put so much effort to write. This is a demonstration of the answer spread, specifically for finding a missing cat. The cat is outside the home, therefore none of the missing object meanings will apply. 2 hours ago, Deian said: Can go into more, yet overall it seems he doesn't actually follow his own material?!Or am I missing something, members say that system works, ok, but how can that be possible? He isn't even using it himself... The meanings in the cat spread are his usual meanings, not the missing object ones. Also Kapherus states it was a reading done in 2015, so it may be that he hadn't made his lost object meanings yet? 😊
Deian Posted November 4, 2024 Author Posted November 4, 2024 Aha, that makes sense I think... So then how would it work, lets say we have 3 cards from the cats case, just to form some example and to be simpler then 6 cards spread. Lets say we ask where is our pet creature, and we receive: 2 of Hearts – child’s room, with pet’s toys, where you expect it to be. 2 of Spades – refrigerator, freezer 10 of Hearts – on a high shelf, upstairs, the attic, the roof, a sunny area, to the south So we look for refrigerator or freezer on the second floor, in the attic, near the roof, south or in a sunny area and hopefully where we expected it to be... It is interesting and worth the try I guess, although I'm worried some of them contradict each other, but then its up to the system to not provide them together if not needed I guess... So for sure interesting approach, ok. thank you.

So for sure interesting approach, ok. thank you. If I had to read those cards, I'd read them as near one of their toys, in a cold place to the south, possibly high up in the attic or on a second floor. A lot of this is like finding lost objects with horary or geomancy, a process of elimination, using what makes the most sense. If you don't have a fridge freezer in the attic/second floor, then what's the next most logical thing the 2oS is showing? Coldness! 🥶 Or it could be indicating a cuboid shape, air conditioning unit, etc. I can give you an example of using this system to find something more intangible in the house: About a year and half ago my cats caught giardia (a rather persistent parasite) and they kept getting reinfected over and over again, even though I was steaming and bleaching the house daily. In the end I got my cards out and asked them where in the house the parasite was. I got Ace of Clubs, 6 of Diamonds and 3 of Clubs. Meaning low to the ground, near wiring and in the hallway/stairs, which made sense. I needed to get the steamer and really make sure the stairs carpet was clean, like right inside every corner. But they also kept running down the side of the sofa where a wire runs, so needed to steam and bleach there too. Once that was done they never got reinfected 😄 If this is a branch of cartomancy you'd like to explore, I'd suggest you try hiding something in your home and seeing if the cards can find it. Or I could hide something for you, and you pull 3 cards to find it? There was a similar game to that with Lenormand. It might be fun to do it with Kapherus' meanings? 😊 Edited November 5, 2024 by akiva Typo and formatting
Deian Posted November 5, 2024 Author Posted November 5, 2024 So we do need to change them a little bit, I do get what you mean, seems doable. For hiding items, that would be good for practice, yea, we did something like that long time ago with family members and another system for finding items, but I think I will wait for something to be lost instead, as it seems all this stuff is more interesting when someone really do need the item. In any case thank you, it looks like interesting system and hopefully will work out. : )

I'd say if it's lost inside the house use the meanings specifically for lost objects, and try to apply your intuition to the cards if they don't fully fit your own home. If it's lost outside the home, then use the normal meanings. But try to think of places they refer to that are in your life/daily travels 😊

I don't use his site much as it isn't a branch of cartomancy I am "into" but it is THE place I go if I have a question. Do you know a better ?
Deian Posted November 5, 2024 Author Posted November 5, 2024 (edited) akiva: I see, thanks again. Can combine it with Yes/No(black/red) for is it inside the house I guess, that could help narrow stuff down. gregory: Quote " I don't use his site much as it isn't a branch of cartomancy I am "into" but it is THE place I go if I have a question." I don't understand. If you have a question its the place you go.But you don't use his site much. So if you have a question you go to the site and then you aren't using it, because you aren't into that branch of cartomancy... But what exactly you do on his site then, when you go there, that doesn't include "using it"? Edited November 5, 2024 by Deian
Raggydoll Posted November 5, 2024 Posted November 5, 2024 I too will go to that site to look up traditional meanings, even though I don’t practice that type of cartomancy. For me, it’s mostly when I compare different ‘schools’ of cartomancy that I go there. I lean more towards Scandinavian and Russian card meanings, and I really enjoy comparing those to the meanings that Kapherus has. I think a lot of us members here will look up stuff as we are studying other things, even if it’s not a system we use often!

What I occasionally use it for is when something comes up here or some other site in discussion, and I want to know the answer, that is the site where I can be sure the information is the best out there. I also look up sites on astronomy, prehistory, archaeology.... I'll look up pretty much anything. I love to learn. I am endlessly curious.
