A question about Steve Hutton's Oracles

Hi, I am newbie with a question for anyone who has Steve Hutton's Ravenswand Oracle or his recent release, Land of Giants. I have both and so much love the artwork. But I am curious if anyone else with these decks experiences that some cards in Raven's Wand and quite a lot in L-O-G are not as brightly printed as other cards in the decks. Is this part of Huttoné style, or is it a print error 🤔

 

The cover of the Raven's Wand box and the Raven's Wand card itself show a distinct difference in the deck that i have: the box image ia bright and clear, as are most of the cards; the Raven's Wand card is dull-coloured, as if it was printed with a purple-grey filter. There is also a strange "circle" effect on it and on the other "affected" cards - like a printing artifact... It is quite hard to explain. Although Hutton does use a lot of purple tones in his art, the affected cards look like they are being viewed through a fine grey muslin cloth. (At present the forum wont allow me to add an image to this post.) The other three most noticably affected are Queen of Hearts, Stepping Away and Strength Renewed.

 

Unboxing L-O-G earlier, many of the cards  show the same effect.  But his world is still so beautiful. Again --- can't post pictures, but do Google him...

 

The decks were ordered direct from US Games Systems by a reputable shop in my country so they are not fake decks. The card stock is excellent, the box quality very good. If anyone else has these decks, please let me know your experience.

So, now i am no longer Page of Forums (love that entry-handle ☺️ ) here is a photo of the card and box to try and show the duller colour and poorer quality of the card.

i have finally looked through all the cards in Land Of Giants.  (Oh my word, strawbears. Just adorable.)

 

As to their print quality, the cards being on the far end of the purple spectrum continues, as for Raven's Wand.

 

The box cover is so much more clear and has many blue tones that lift the detail out of the image way more than the card of the same image. (Clearly visible in the wings of the little creature - a flower-wolf according to Hutton, as well as in the glass and the sky. )

 

So, i am fairly sure that the print run is not perfect. The blue-toned, clear cards seem more likely to be the "correct" colour.

If all the decks on Planet Earth are the same, there isn't any point in me returning them, which is the reason for this thread - to investigate other Hutton Holder's decks of cards :)
