MandalaTiger Posted April 5, 2025 Posted April 5, 2025 First real post, I don't know if I've met my twin flame/soul mate but a lot of things I've read and questions I've asked all seem to be saying yes.... So is there a way of actually knowing if this person is my twin flame/soul mate? For brief context due to word limits, we meet around 2 years ago, had a brief relationship and went our separate ways but we always seem to be drawn back to each other, bring out each others best sides, feel comfortable to fully open up to each other within a few weeks of meeting. It felt strange as I'm usually a closed book due to my past but she worked me out in seconds as if she knew my life even though we lived 100s or miles apart and had never met before. We also seem to know how each other are feeling even when we've not seen each other or even near each other! This doesn't feel like any sort of relationship I've ever been in, it literally feels like a magnet pulling us together even if we have a fall out, within days we have spoke and fixed things. The feeling is very strange as it's nothing I've ever experienced before. As someone that was scared by spiritual things due to my mum giving myself and a few friends readings years ago and getting them spot on, I've tried to take an interest when my mum tells me things but at the same time this has felt quite confusing and although my mum means well when I've spoken to her, I sometimes feel she's telling me things that she thinks I want to hear when I've spoken to her about the situation so thought I'd ask here for any input
JoyousGirl Posted April 5, 2025 Posted April 5, 2025 It's a very romantic concept, isn't it, the twin flame? However, if everyone comes from the same one source and is ultimately the one thing but individuated, can twin flames exist? What is the definition of the term? Soul mates, on the other hand, don't need to be romantic. They're our partners in evolution. They could be our relatives, friends, or enemies, or someone we meet in passing that helps something in us to click into place. If we are learning lessons, resolving karmic ties and so on as individual beings, does the concept of a twin flame or other partner help us or hinder us? Both seem to imply multiple components that ultimately make one feel whole. But do we need another to do that? The only way I could answer your question is from what I've heard others say, and that is "you just know". But that would need to be followed up in 20 years.

The development of the relationship will show you whether one of these metaphors is apt. Twin flame and soul mate are not the same thing, as @JoyousGirl has already said. They're metaphors for the feeling of belonging together. I don't believe tarot cards can tell you whether you and She belong together. They can answer questions like: what can I do to make the relationship stronger? or What do I have to know about this relationship? You can use the tarot to explore your own feelings and ask for guidance for the continuation of the relationship. You might also try to explore the feelings of the other person; however, remember that we all have boundaries, and a reading should respect them. Tarot cards are no private investigators. That's why I'm always careful with Other readings. You might wish to do a reading together and use the cards to get into an honest discussion of what you want and need from each other. Your use of the words twin flame/soul mate seems to suggest the concept of a "meant to be" relationship that will last no matter what. Personally, I don't believe the future is set in stone, including relationships. Even two people who are "meant to be" can still ruin their relationship by thoughtless actions, egoism or bad decisions. My life experience has taught me that even under the best circumstances, a lot can go wrong. My husband and I fell in love many years ago and got married quickly. We went through Ups and Downs together. If you asked me today, is he your soul mate and a part of yourself?, I would say yes. We belong together. But this bond was not a gift from fate that I only had to accept. It was built by years of growing together. We have been married now for over 35 years. Keeping the flame alive was and is work. Only time can tell whether you and She are meant to be together, but you can do your best to make it happen. Even if you do a tarot reading and the Lovers, the Two of Cups and Ace of Cups come up, this would only mean that a happy future filled with love and togetherness is possible. But not that it will invariably happen. It might also tell you that you very much want it to happen. Love readings are tricky things. They can't do the work for you. Many people come to tarot because they look for reassurances, and if they stay around, they learn to value tarot for the question marks and road signs, not the reassurances and certainties. Sorry to be such a stick-in-the-mud.
DanielJUK Posted April 5, 2025 Posted April 5, 2025 @gregory wrote a beautiful post in an older thread on the same topic (worth reading through that one) - Quote I do believe in kindred spirits (A term I stole from Anne of Green Gables as I think it;'s wonderful !) I much prefer the term kindred spirits personally. We connect closer with some people in this community, we are closer to some family members and distant family, we have friends with closer connections and we meet people in romance with a stronger connection. They are our kindred spirits. I am not sure what I believe about soul mates and twin flames but to believe in the concept, you have to believe that some things are destined. For me they come with some dark baggage, like some people are always waiting for that perfect person. It's like the Knight in shining armour idea. Life isn't so easy like that. Our connections can be troubled and sometimes easier, our feelings change constantly. My friends in long relationships always tell me that there are some things that really irritate them about their partner, and also things they deeply love. Plus they change and you change, keeping the same bond is super difficult. Connections and relationships are hard work, that you equally have to put into it. Some connections don't work out, couples split up, friends ghost you and disappear out of your life. It's really complicated. I think if you are getting readings and feel a connection for this person, they could be a kindred spirit and perhaps work on your connection. Keep it light though, see where it goes! There is a really dark side of twin flames where people end up trapped in a negative relationship. Someone once posted on here (I still remember it 😭 ) that their destined twin flame was married and so were they, to other people and the break in connection was consuming them. They didn't want to be with this twin flame, they had separate happy lives but they were trapped in life by this idea. It can become quite unhealthy and promotes staying in toxic relationships. I think there has to be some sort of rationality with the head as well as being consumed by the happy feelings of the heart. It's wonderful to be with someone with a strong connection but my advice would be to just see where it goes, keep open-minded for the future, no pressure on it. See if your connection keeps growing 🙂
