eggdropsoup Posted August 24 Posted August 24 I cast my first proper GT a couple days ago for the next semester. Are cards to the left of the sig definitively stuck in the past and won't happen? including the ones in the rows below or above. In this vein, is it unproductive to read on symbols behind the significator? All the work and money related cards happen to be behind my significator which I find kinda strange, since I basically have been living unemployed and jobless for the past several months, and they are surrounded by mostly positive cards. Also, is there any significance to the house the significator is in? For example, mine is the house of Scythe. Thanks
DanielJUK Posted August 24 Posted August 24 In 36 Cards by Andy Boroveshengra, they talk about this and says the past / present / future divisions of a GT are a modern invention. The traditional GT was always future facing, like what is coming up for you. Andy recommends using past = left, present, future, etc, only in readings about situations. For me, I think the directions of the cards are the most important, and the proximity of the cards to the signficator. Which way the signficator faces could be the future? If you get to 5 posts, you can post your reading in the Lenormand Readings area and we can have a go at trying to work it out. You need to post your interpretation first but you can share that part of the reading or the whole thing but focusing on what you want 🙂

That makes a lot more sense to me personally. I've been reading from Rana George's book. I also look at the directions of the cards but not really in a way that shows the future. I'll have to get this book. 2 hours ago, DanielJUK said: If you get to 5 posts, you can post your reading in the Lenormand Readings area and we can have a go at trying to work it out. Much appreciated, Daniel.
WizardintheWoods Posted August 28 Posted August 28 I think here you might have a case of being new to the GT and setting it up. What was your intention when shuffling and laying out the cards? It’s okay, you said it’s your first so if you didn’t have one clearly defined in your mind (and that is what this seems to be to me) the cards won’t know the frame work within which to work. I personally don’t lay a GT for Past/Present/Future. Mine are all one time frame, all for future and I set the time frame, present, or the past and again set the time frame. So give that some thought and maybe it will assist.
