The problem is, which to choose! Plus we currently live in rented accommodation and we're not allowed to put pictures up, it's very depressing 😔 We have a storage unit containing some lovely things that my partner and I have collected and inherited over the years, one day they'll have a home... And I will certainly be buying some prints from this lady, she's incredibly talented!

 

What kind of art do you create Sar? I'm intrigued!

I paint. Using oil paint, so things take time.

My favourite medium, I used to paint only with oils when I was younger. I can still smell it (that and turps) when I think about it 😅

Well, back in the day I wanted to study Fine Art at university, but pressure from a parent meant I chose something else. Since then space, funds and mental space have been limiting... Recently I've been practicing again with watercolours (I can use a little travel pan), they were never my favourite medium but I have to try *something*! I like gouache as well, they're fairly quick to use of course so they can be cleared up easily enough when I'm done.

Then you are on your road to working with oil again. Cool!!

These days there are also water-mixable oil paints. I know of several artists who use them. Some of them have allergies and can’t work with regular oil paints, others have very small studio spaces (or paint at the kitchen table) and some have young kids that they don’t want to expose to oil mediums. 
 

There are also slow drying acrylics and acrylic gouache. You might like them better than watercolour if you are more of a painterly artist 🙂

 

I use most mediums except of oil paint. These days I prefer to work on paper and in sketchbooks, it saves me so much on storage space 😁

This is great to know, thank you! Oil paints are wonderful but certainly not a home-friendly medium (in my opinion), I definitely would want a dedicated studio space if I were to use them again. So knowing that there is an alternative is exciting!

This is how I work usually, with colour pencils (which I find so malleable in their own way) on paper... They're so easy to grab and then tuck away again, perfect when space is tight.
