Pio2001 Posted January 25 Posted January 25 Just to let you know that an exhibition about the history of tarot will take place in Bergamo in Italy, from 02/27/2026 to 06/02/2026. We can expect to see several cards from the Visconti-Sforza deck, and, hopefully some cards from other gilted decks from the XVth century. Link : https://lacarrara.it/en/mostra/tarocchi-2026/
Pio2001 Posted February 20 Author Posted February 20 Teaser : In the automatic translation, the "deck with lions" means the "Colleoni deck", also known as the Visconti-Sforza deck. I understand that it will be exhibited in full (74 cards).
Tanga Posted February 22 Posted February 22 Oh WOOOOOO. They look amazing! And it's so lovely to hear the language this morning.... (my mother's mother tongue - but not mine 🙃).

Does anyone know if they will have a digital version of this exhibition? I know sometimes museums will put art on display on their websites, and I see on their website they have an online catalog. I am not sure if they will put this set of cards on there, though.
Pio2001 Posted 13 hours ago Author Posted 13 hours ago I don't know if there will be a catalog of the exhibition, but most of the cards are published by the various museums from which they come The Visconti-Sforza cards from the Morgan Library : https://www.themorgan.org/collection/tarot-cards The Visconti-Sforza cards from the Academia Carrara : https://lacarrara.it/en/explore-the-collection/ then search for "tarocchi" The Visconti di Modrone cards from the Beinecke library : https://beinecke.library.yale.edu/collections/highlights/visconti-tarot The Charles VI cards from the Bibliothèque Nationale de France : https://gallica.bnf.fr/services/engine/search/sru?operation=searchRetrieve&version=1.2&startRecord=0&maximumRecords=50&page=1&query=(gallica all "jeucart tarot") sortby dc.date/sort.ascending Other decks from the BnF : https://gallica.bnf.fr/selections/fr/html/cartes-jouer-acces-par-type-de-jeu
