So sometimes people talk about just shuffling through their deck, whilst they're watching tv...

or just because they feel like fiddling with something.

My version of this is bedtime decks.

Decks that are pretty, not emotionally taxing, maybe a little funny and easy to run the eye over - that I just like to look

through before bed sometimes...

Mine are all Tarot:

Dame Fortune's Wheel Tarot

Metanoia Tarot

All Hallowes Eve & Halloween Waite Tarot, stars editions (Hybrid deck)

Spring & Winter Waite Tarot, stars editions (Hybrid deck)

The Gendron Tarot.

Anybody else? 🙃

bedtime decks

This is a very interesting practice... could even be considered a part of a daily spiritual practice.  I'm curious... do Tarot cards, or Tarot readings ever appear in your dreams?  They do for me occasionally.  I always consider it significant.  Those of us who live and breathe Tarot have so many symbolic associations with the cards.  I believe that our Guides, or the highest levels of the Spiritual World can communicate to us through our dreams (sleeping and waking).

Native Americans believe that the dream-time is where you can meet your ancestors for important messages.

I have never dreamed about Tarot - as far as I can remember...

hmmm - or possibly once an anxiety dream where I'm trying to tidy up my decks but I can't manage it.  Anxiety often takes the form of me trying to get something done which I can't in my dreams. Collecting all my crystals, getting to the appropriate classroom in time, trying to find my room in the University dormitory, trying to find my way to the shop and back.... etc.

So I don't pay attention to them, as I know what they're usually about in my conscious world.

I'm a lucid dreamer, & I dream in colour.

I did once - during the 8 years I trained in Wing Tsun - dream about that.  And it wasn't an anxiety dream, though I don't remember what it was about.

There's a "SPREAD BEFORE BED" that I sometimes do, which has a card position for dreams:

1      3       5

     2     4     6

1) Energy I'm carrying from my day

2) How I can release it

3) Something to reflect on from my day

4) How could I have been more mindful

5) How I can make tomorrow great

6) A symbol to pay attention to in my dreams

I've never seen whatever symbol it is I focus on, in my dreams.

My body certainly communicates with me in my dreams - when I have a UTI & it's transitioning to a kidney infection (precognitive health dream or prodromal dream).  I Dream, that I am fighting vampires - and it's lucid, so I try my best to fight to win, because I know that if I wake up having lost to the vampires, then I'll have to go and get antibiotics for my condition that very morning.  (See the subconscious parallel?  blood loss from both events).

Oops - mis-quoted a deck - it's Meraki Tarot (not Metanoia). And I've removed some of the cards from this deck

because they don't "match" their descriptions and I find that a tad annoying 🙃. So for this one, I only use half a deck.

I haven't really used Tarot at bedtime but I dream once I had Dr Seuss Tarot and was so disappointed the next day when I went straight to google only to find there apparently isn't one. I have dreamed about crystals and herbs and such before as well. Looking through a Tarot Deck when I'm having trouble sleeping is something I hope remember to try. I'm curious about what will happen.

I dream Tarot cards sometimes. One dream about Hanged Man and Death which was deeply moving and transformative. Other times it's less dramatic. Most recently Empress card appeared in a dream.

I love this! Thanks for sharing.💖

When i remember, I do a practice called unwinding the day where I recall my whole day going backwards from the present moment [lying in bed preparing to sleep]

This spread strikes me as a similar sort of practice--a way to close the day and process the day's events.
