Concerning the Dreams of Gaia Tarot

Does anyone know the date of publication of the edition of this Tarot that has the coloured backs? The one that was re-edited because of the mix-up regarding one of the Majors?

If I wanted to order it form Amazon.ca, would this one be the right one to order?

I would also love some feedback about this Tarot because I know it is quite different from the tradition RWT scheme. Thank you.

I don't usually use the deck for regular tarot readings.  I do a ton of writer readings (I'm on a writer's site and I help writer's with many of their problems) and the deck works great for writers into fantasy.  As for regular readings, it's an overload for me to read.  People are going to hate me for this but I'm just not into dragon decks that much.  I have the companion oracle deck Messenger Oracle that I use a lot more than I do the Gaia deck.

I have the same one that SaturnCeleste has, I got it from Amazon in January.  Have not used it much, but did read the book intro and stuff on a couple of cards and it looks like it will be very nice for personal work.  Though Tarot the deck is structured a bit different (25 Majors) and the minors do not have traditional court cards.  They actually are numbered 1-14 with Queens at 13, Kings at 14 but no real page or knight.  They have named cards, but they are not the same per suit.  The art is gorgeous and the cards are oversized.  One of the things I love about the deck is that it is heavily focused on the elements, the suits are the elements.  I am really looking forward to getting to know this deck.

Interesting. I've heard a few people praise the Messenger over the Dreams of Gaia. Can definitely see how the latter would work as really good prompts.

I'm going to put it on my list. I've always been a sucker for great artwork and oversized cards. I wish the 1001 Nights was oversized. *sigh*

Ohhhhh I so hope I like it.  Who knows it might end up as more of an elemental style oracle than a tarot, but I do hope to connect with it as I do love the art.  Now I am scared it might end up being just an art deck LOL.  Oh well if it is, then it is.

Since you understand and work with the elements, Jewel, you might  really bond with it.

It does more complicated, though, so could be disappointing as gregory says.

Elemental correspondences are something I am really connected with, and I do use Tarot mainly for psychology type stuff and personal healing so I actually think I will end up really liking the deck once I assimilate its different structure.

Please let me know how it goes because I haven't crossed it off my list.
