Ethereal Visions Tarot

I've been waiting for the Ethereal Visions Tarot for quite some time. Lo Scarabeo has (with a few exceptions) mastered the art of making metallic decks. Does anyone know if this is the very first deck US Games created that has gold foil on the very images themselves? Looking at the pics, it looks like foil and not just gold ink. If only for this, Imma get this baby. :))

It is now available for pre-order, and is scheduled for an April 2018 release.

From its USG page:

In creating Ethereal Visions Tarot, Matt Hughes has drawn inspiration from the Art Nouveau movement, adopting its distinctive style and meticulous approach to craftsmanship. The artist has also created two additional cards to supplement the traditional Major Arcana. Every detailed image in the 80-card deck is hand drawn and colored. Each card is illuminated with gold foil stamping, to elegant effect. Includes a 48-page booklet.

Cards measure: 3.25" x 5.25"; Box measures: 3.40" x 5.30"

These cards are BIG! <3

I was loving the look of this until I saw the Moon. I’ve never really come across a “deal breaker” card before but, for me this, this is definitely one for this particular deck! Which I’m rather disappointed with actually

I backed this deck on Kickstarter what feels like years ago now, based on a handful of cards. Delivery has been delayed and delayed and delayed again and backers still haven't received their decks yet but the USG deal has been announced. I'm not hugely impressed but I can't say I blame the artist for taking a MM deal. It's just a shame it's taking so long to get the rewards out to the original backers and I really hope he manages to do this before the MM hits the shelves!

You're right, CharlotteK. The deck's Kickstarter supporters should get first dibs on it, I mean that's just fair.

Latest update from Matt is that decks are due to be shipped out in next 2 weeks. I had a look back at Kickstarter and it was October 2016 the deck was funded so it's been a long old haul for the creator! Will be great to finally see it. I'll let you know how I find it [emoji4]

Another one that is taking a looong time is Our Tarot by Sarah Shipman. That one was funded December 2016 and surely it can't be that far away now...

Sarah  has had issues, and sent out postcards in December to make up for it. She hoped to start shipping in January, but offered refunds for anyone who was fed up.

I wouldn't have backed Ethereal if I'd known it would get a MM release, I have to say. But that's life. Given UK customs - and more to the point, the £8 fee the post office charges to collect very small amounts of VAT, I am not backing on KS any more :( I have begged them to set up a payment system that covers this in advance as amazon and even ebay do. They "thanked me for my interest..."

Artist is selling a few first editions left over from kickstarter campaign if anyone is interested.  I picked one up as I like first edition indie decks, but since this is coming out soon on US Games, won't be surprised if most people wait for those much less expensive decks to come out. But thought I would let people know as there is a limited number.  The first editions are signed and numbered by the artist with a limited number at 1100 I believe.

From the latest update in the deck's Kickstarter campaign just last week, it seems that its stocks have finally arrived. Glad to know that its supporters will finally get their copy soon. :)

Anyone else having a hard time getting your deck from the creator?

I received mine today and while I haven’t had time to really study it, it is a beautiful deck.  First impressions - the gold stamping is very nice. It seems like a quiet sort of deck.

Mine came yesterday or the day before - I am very pleased with it.

I'm waiting for mine.

My copy arrived 3 days ago. The gold foil accents are quite lovely, and the art is quite lovely, and the overall production quality is stellar.

But . . . I'm not as excited by it as I hoped I would be. It doesn't look enough like a tarot deck to me. Too many cards are a little too far off any tarot system that I recognize.

This is my slight concern. I backed it soooo long ago and I definitely look for different things in a tarot deck than I did 16 or 17 months ago.

I received mine a few days ago. The art is beautiful. I don’t know how much I'll use it though.

I really love the Temperance card, but don't understand the 2nd hand in the Ace of Pentacles. It completely changes the feeling of the card.

I'm glad I bought it though. The gold foil is really nicely done and the deck is pretty.

I finally checked my deck more thoroughly and while the cards and postcards are in perfect condition, the box is slightly crunched in one corner. Bummer.
