Bodhiseed Posted March 4, 2018 Posted March 4, 2018 This week I'll be using the Margarete Petersen Tarot, created by M. Petersen and published by Königs Furt. The oracle I'll be using is the Elemental Dice, an idea developed by my good friend Carole Beasley. Today's card and dice roll are the Three of Flames (Wands) and Fire + Fire (Combustion): The magnificent squatting image of the Mexica goddess of childbirth, naked, solitary in the ecstasy of total effort, does not represent a woman in “labour”. Here we look upon the face of battle. If men challenged the death anguish on the jaguar meadow of war, women confronted it on the bloody field of childbirth. ~ Inga Clendinnen (Aztecs) The deer-like figure in Petersen's painting lets out a bellow, and the Mexica figure gives birth. We first express on paper or in words what we want to create or do, then we go through the hard work of accomplishing it. I prefer MP's view of the Three of Wands rather than the RWS version, which is a little too idyllic for my tastes. I've never been involved in any kind of new project or creative endeavor that required me gazing out to sea; labor was always a part of it. The dice throw of double Fire implies a lot of fiery energy. Because fire consumes, it needs a fuel source (just as that infant is going to need sustenance and nurturing to stay alive). Hopefully, the project plans include a way to renew the energy and resources that will be used.

jema Posted March 7, 2018 Posted March 7, 2018 Gill and SoL is a fun combo. In Servants of Light the artist of Gill did only the majors and the author of the deck seemed to have gotten impatient and assigned a new artist for the minors so they clash but in a good way. The thing that bothers me is the new titles for the courts and the reversal of elements of swords and wands. This is the King of Discs from last night and I do like them both.
