Page of Ghosts Posted March 7, 2018 Posted March 7, 2018 Have any of you seen The Brady Tarot? Little Red Tarot posted about it today and it looks really cool! Made from woodcuts and painted with gouche, with an animal theme that doesn't shy away from the brutality of the food chain. I really like the Six of Cups with the playful otters, the Three of Pentacles with the badger and the 8 of Swords with the swooping eagle. Eagles are actually known for sometimes taking cats back home up north, so while this one is about to grab some other animal I really jive with the swooping and sudden movement of the eagle, even if it doesn't end well for the critter on the ground. As usual I'll probably depend on Beth if I decide to get it when it comes out :)) And the guidebook is written by Rachel Pollack! While I've yet to read any of her books (they're on my list) she's kind of a legend so that's pretty cool. http://littleredtarot.com/brady-tarot-emi-brady-deep-creative-process-working-rachel-pollack/ https://bradytarot.backerkit.com/hosted_preorders
Jewel Posted March 7, 2018 Posted March 7, 2018 This deck does look very interesting. No matter how we romanticize it, nature is not gentle it is primal. I think this deck will capture that in a beautiful way. And a companion by Rachel Pollack ... that is icing on the cake! This is a deck that will require study to master (at least for me!). Thanks for sharing :)

Thanks for sharing :) I agree ^-^ If someone had issues with for example the Ten of Swords in the Wild Unknown I don't think this will be the deck for them as, judging by the art in the LRT-article, there seems to be more of the sort here. And in graphic colours. I think it will be good with a different sort of animal deck that embraces that harshness of nature on the market.
Saturn Celeste Posted March 8, 2018 Posted March 8, 2018 Lovely deck! I have so many animal decks as it is though, I doubt I'll pursue this one but it's stunning!
gregory Posted March 8, 2018 Posted March 8, 2018 Ah - one of my few remaining KS decks still to arrive; I'm not backing any more because of post office fees....
Siavahda Posted March 10, 2018 Posted March 10, 2018 Oh, I covet this FIERCELY! But I too will probably have to wait till Little Red Tarot has it in stock. The shipping from Beth to me-in-Finland is just so much more affordable, not to mention it's my favourite tarot store-and-blog and deserves all the support <3

Lionsdaughter Posted March 13, 2018 Posted March 13, 2018 I backed it quite a while ago. Can't wait til it's done. She's doing a phenomenal job.
EmpyreanKnight Posted March 19, 2018 Posted March 19, 2018 I like this! One of the most beautifully-drawn and colored animal decks I've ever seen. Bookmarked it, and I'm gonna watch out for it for when it becomes available to the public.
