RavenOfSummer Posted April 21, 2018 Posted April 21, 2018 I believe I have the right name for this deck, based on some Google searching...does anyone know anything about this deck? I can't find much information about it, but I find these images so captivating.
Whisper Posted April 22, 2018 Posted April 22, 2018 Can't help, but love the contrast of the blue and russet. <3
Page of Ghosts Posted April 22, 2018 Posted April 22, 2018 I like the artwork on this deck! The blue/orange contrast is my favourite :D Engel is angel in many languages including my own and those sure looks like angels.
PathWalker Posted April 22, 2018 Posted April 22, 2018 Engel Tarot - by Alois Hanslain. ISBN 3-922936-61-x Cards are big - 15.5 cm x 11 cm - majors only, plain white unprinted backs. Colour tone is as you say very dark gold/mustard and blue. Titles are tiny white print on bottom edge, in German. No LWB or title card, just 9 lines of text (in German) on the back of the pack. Like many European decks it does have a degree of nudity - mostly nipples showing through sheer cloth - if that bothers folks? here is the Tarot Garden entry for it: http://tarotgarden.com/engel-tarot/
truelighth Posted April 22, 2018 Posted April 22, 2018 This is indeed the Engel Tarot by Alois Hanslian. A German artist. It is put of print and even hard to find in Europe.
RavenOfSummer Posted April 23, 2018 Author Posted April 23, 2018 Thanks so much, everyone, for your help and information with this one! Argh, why do I always have to be falling in love with OOP and HTF decks :'( I guess I'll just have to keep an eye out for this one. Keep hope alive ;) Oh, and I see this artist has done an oracle deck as well? I'm glad to learn of him.
truelighth Posted April 24, 2018 Posted April 24, 2018 The artist did three oracles: The Bach-Bluten Devas (bluten means blossom) The Orchideeen-Bluten Devas I Ging Orakel The first two can actually be found quite easily in Europe. Unlike the Engel Tarot

Jewel Posted April 25, 2018 Posted April 25, 2018 The deck looks gorgeous but after looking at the price tag at Tarot Garden I will not be getting this deck lol. The art is gorgeous though.
VGimlet Posted April 27, 2018 Posted April 27, 2018 I'd keep an eye out - I found a deck somewhere (eBay? etsy? maybe even on Amazon) a few years ago from somewhere and the price wasn't bad.
cdsmiller17 Posted October 10, 2018 Posted October 10, 2018 I have a boxed set of Engel Tarot cards. They are Major Arcana only. It comes with a book, entirely in German. The ISBN is : 3-922936-61-X. I bought them in the UK in 1987.
