The deck I forgot I bought!

So, I was digging around through my Tarot decks tonight and found the box set of the Anna K Tarot!!!  :o

 

Apparently I had bought this at some point from our used-book store and put it away then forgot about it. I kind of remember buying it, but don't remember exactly when I did. I was really excited, it was like receiving a gift for no particular reason. Guess what deck I'll be using for next weeks DotW! This was really cool!

 

So, has this happened to you? What deck did you squirrel away then discover later?

Things in big boxes that I had to put in a drawer away from my other decks. I completely forgot I had Tarot of Dreams, Heart of Stars, Japaridze and Bonefire. Now I keep a list posted up to remind me what I have!

 

I love the Anna K deck, it was my third after Radiant Rider Waite and Robin Wood and quickly became my favourite for a long time. It has my favourite Star card.

For me it is Epic tarot. I really like it too and use it for the weeks DotW. But I have NO recollection of buying it at all.

 

I also found a New Palladini buries under a scarf and old junk mail on a small table. I am rearranging all decks now and pulling out to sell some stuff so I bet I will discover more.

When I was packing up things to put into storage I found The Tarot of the Sidhe, which I'd  forgotten buying. I didn't have time to open it, so (unless i remember this post) I may get to unexpectedly discover it all over again when things eventually come out of storage,

It happens to me too that I find physical decks I did not know I had.

But the last surprise happened when I copied my deck list in my AT account to safely store somewhere else, and I saw "Van den Borre Animals" and I thought - do I actually own this deck?

I went to the attic to look through my boxes and yes, there it was! Completely forgot about it.

I do not really forget my Tarot collection, like if you ask me if I have a certain deck I can immediately tell you if I have it or not. Maybe because it's not that extensive yet.

 

But I have made double-purchases on some books I've forgotten I have. I have a personal library of 1600+ books (the last time I made an inventory was in 2014), so yeah that happens.

 

Like some of the guys here tho, I'd look for a certain deck in my collection and I'd find a delightful one that have escaped my mind for some time and I'd fall for it all over again. It's a hella effective way to swat minor deck cravings, like I'd think that I have almost everything I've wanted anyway and look - here's one I've promised to explore so hey, I don't need anything new, really.

Yup. Just the other day I was moving my decks over to a new storage system, when I found 2 decks I had completely forgotton I had - the Bohemian Animals, and the Holy Grail. Yup, bought it and forgot it!  :o

Glad it's not just me who forgets! I was tidying the cupboard under the stairs the other day where I store a lot of my decks and came across a few decks I'd forgotten about - the tarot of Light and Shadow, Steampunk and Universal Waite.

CharlotteK,  you just reminded me of my deck sets in big boxes.

I keep the things in big boxes on a low bookshelve in the corridor, because they do not fit in my pretty little chest of drawers where I keep all my other decks, in my bedroom. When I look for a deck I automatically go to the drawers, each drawer is thematic (one drawer all oracles and lenormands, one drawer all old favourites RWS styles, one drawer all Babas, one drawer all Marseilles......)

I almost never think of rummaging through the shelves in the corridor. Thank you for reminding me !
