My name is Jai. I am a beginner tarot reader. While I am not a beginner to the custom I am a beginner to conducting readings. I just got tired of paying readers in person who gave me generic readings or paying for readers online only to be duped in getting another generic reading (even a generic video). I felt no connection.

 

So I prayed and ask for blessings, took out a new deck of cards, and started first with a 1 card reading. I referenced every online explanations of each card.  Now I am up to a 9 card reading (on myself only). But I keep a journal of my readings. I started seeing repitition cards. Or different cards pulled that have parallel insinuations. It’s a strange feeling.

 

I feel there is more. But I’m not experienced enough to understand fully. I just feel it. So I researched and found this forum. I hoping to learn from others.

Hi and welcome to TT&M Jai! I'm sorry your previous experiences with tarot before you bought your own deck were unsatisfactory, but am really glad you dove in and started reading for yourself now! I hope your readings provide clarity and good advice for you. I learn so much here, so I hope you will too!

Hi Jai!  Welcome to TT&M!  Sounds like you're doing everything right as a beginner.  You are studying and journaling and you want to learn.  This is all you need to get started.  Keep up the great work and I hope to see you around the boards with more questions and your own insights.  ^-^

You may be a beginner but you're already doing much more than me when I'd just started. Journaling is a very good habit for anyone involved in divination or witchcraft, and it's best to start early. I'd recommend doing daily draws for yourself and researching different spreads. Tarot can be very useful both in spiritual and practical matters.

Howdy Jai! You have definitely found your way to a great place for learning more about Tarot. Glad to have you with us. As you work more and more with Tarot you'll probably find that there is always more to learn. I've been learning for a fair number of years now and still find new things almost every time I pick up a deck. It is always interesting.  ;D
