Saskia Posted June 9, 2018 Posted June 9, 2018 Hello peeps, I'm in the process of creating my own Oracles deck and I'd love some early feedback while I'm still figuring out my art style. I currently have two themes, animals (intuition/instincts) and everyday items (synchronicity/everday affirmations). I'd love to hear which style or theme speaks to you more? I know there's not much of content yet as I haven't written the texts of the cards. At this stage, I'd just like to know which style (if either) appeals to you. Thank you ever so much!
Saskia Posted June 13, 2018 Author Posted June 13, 2018 Hi all, just curious if there's anybody interested in replying. Even if your feedback is 'meh', that would help me to know this style doesn't speak to you. I'd be interested in any opinions about what do you like or dislike in a deck.

Love your everyday items, Saskia. Really appreciate the photography. Borderless and large cards, please. [emoji4]
Saskia Posted June 13, 2018 Author Posted June 13, 2018 Borderless, ticked! I also prefer borderless. I'm developing an app for these cards (well, my partner is), but I'm also thinking a print deck. Large cards, sounds good. Thanks for your feedback Shivani!
Flaxen Posted June 13, 2018 Posted June 13, 2018 I also like the everyday items. Like Shivani, I prefer borderless cards but am happy with a smaller size. Pocket decks in a tin are very useful. [emoji3] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
DanielJUK Posted June 13, 2018 Posted June 13, 2018 I love both deck ideas Saskia. I am more interested in the every day items oracle! I remember some people on AT made a similar type oracle, just in small batches or just for themselves. I think divining from every day objects and giving them a meaning is a really interesting idea. It brings it down to your level somehow, very earthy. Glad there will be an app and physical cards, looking forwards to both of these decks :)
Jewel Posted June 13, 2018 Posted June 13, 2018 I like them both! If your oracle deck ends up with suits you could use both in one deck >:D
Saturn Celeste Posted June 13, 2018 Posted June 13, 2018 Borderless, ticked! I also prefer borderless. I'm developing an app for these cards (well, my partner is), but I'm also thinking a print deck. Large cards, sounds good. Thanks for your feedback Shivani! Hello Saskia! Wow, you're off to a great start! I'm with Shivani, borderless and large cards and every day objects like Daniel suggested. Please keep us posted on the development of this deck. ^-^
Saskia Posted June 14, 2018 Author Posted June 14, 2018 Thank you for your feedback and encouragement everyone! I'll keep you posted for sure. I'm planning to publish the deck in early 2019.
Esk Posted June 15, 2018 Posted June 15, 2018 The everyday items speaks more to me. Animal decks are more common (but cute that's true). However I think it's more difficult to find a good deck about everyday and earthy issues. And yours seems to deal with this in a poetic ways, that's also something I like. Anyways, It must be an exciting adventure to launch into deck creation. I wish you good luck!
Itzcoatl Posted June 15, 2018 Posted June 15, 2018 I was really drawn to the animal cards, I found them fascinating and they made me think in a way that other animal decks hadn't quite before. Reading the other comments however, I can see what they are saying. An everyday objects deck would be much more unusual, and something I haven't seen at all before. I could see how there might be so much scope with everyday objects...and the carry over into noticing these things in your everyday life and them acting as a sign for your day. Lovely work on both sets though, and if they were available commercially then I'd certainly buy either if the rest of the decks were up to the same standard.
Saskia Posted June 17, 2018 Author Posted June 17, 2018 Wow Itzcoatl, that's such great feedback! Thank you. I'm creating this with a dear friend and business partner, who will code the app. She was initially also more into the animal deck, but I've personally preferred the everyday items from the get-go as it's more unusual and works as a bridge to notice synchronities and signs in one's everyday. Now my friend has also started to be more drawn to the everyday items :D Yes, our plan is to have it available commercially, hopefully from the beginning of 2019 as an app and a physical deck. We've just established an indie studio for this purpose and for creating other decks and games, so I'm super psyched to hear there is interest towards our work, design and style. Thank you all <3
