EmpyreanKnight Posted June 25, 2018 Posted June 25, 2018 Do you have any decks that you use specifically for business/career/financial queries? It may be because the theme or aesthetic of the deck seems so apt for these concerns, or because they just happen to be very accurate or easily readable when you use them on these kinds of questions. I find myself making more and more readings on these kinds of issues, so I'm curious about the decks that others use. Maybe I'd get some of these myself. ;)
EmpyreanKnight Posted June 25, 2018 Author Posted June 25, 2018 As for me, I use metallic decks for these and I rarely fail to get meaningful readings. My top deck is the Golden Tarot of Klimt, followed by the Golden Universal. Those are my two go-to's, tho I may also use my default decks (Centennial and Thoth) and I'd have no problem. Using the di Vincenzo meanings, the Sola Busca also gives accurate career and money readings, tho I haven't used it very often.
DanielJUK Posted June 25, 2018 Posted June 25, 2018 I love the idea of Klimt for that! For me it's the Housewives Tarot, it's comical and satire but also so well themed with the 50's kitsch! I love it for home and material / mundane type readings. It even features coins and plates and real mundane items as the art :)
Flaxen Posted June 25, 2018 Posted June 25, 2018 For readings of a more practical nature, I reach for my older TdM style decks or Dame Fortune’s Wheel. There is something about the way people are depicted in those decks and the non-scenic pips which makes for a very practical reading for me.
MysticMoonlight Posted June 25, 2018 Posted June 25, 2018 For "material world" inquires, my favorite go-to is my DruidCraft Tarot. It's very cut-to-the-point and practical. It always sings like a bird for me but even more so, it seems, for the outside aspects of life. Hope this helps! :)
Princess Of Cups Posted June 25, 2018 Posted June 25, 2018 I find the classic Rider Waite pretty good for worldly queries and the Dragon Tarot too.
Penthasilia Posted July 4, 2018 Posted July 4, 2018 Either the TdM or Etteilla- those two work the best for me. They seem to incorporate enough of the cartomancy aspect that it brings it a more down to earth for the mundane issues.
Rose Lalonde Posted July 5, 2018 Posted July 5, 2018 I'll second Dame Fortune's Wheel for the very practical. (Combines TdM inspired majors with Etteilla inspired illustrated minors.)
EmpyreanKnight Posted July 5, 2018 Author Posted July 5, 2018 I noticed many suggestions not only here but in some other resources too saying that the TdM has proven to be stolid, straightforward, and pragmatic, which are useful qualities that are eminently suitable for dealing with the type of concerns that I mentioned. Among the three current major schools of Tarot, it is the one I'm least familiar with tho. I will definitely endeavor to explore it in great depth. Thanks!
Flaxen Posted July 5, 2018 Posted July 5, 2018 Among the three current major schools of Tarot, it is the one I'm least familiar with tho. I will definitely endeavor to explore it in great depth. Thanks! There are so many great resources now too to help explore the older decks. Most people are fine with the Trump cards but struggle with the pips. There’s lots of different ways to handle these and it’s best to find a way that works best for you. I’d highly recommend Yoav Ben Dov’s book. It would be great to have more people using TdM. [emoji3]
Venus Rising Posted July 5, 2018 Posted July 5, 2018 I've been having good luck with the Golden Universal for those types of questions, too! It's not one of my usual standby decks that I usually go to for readings, but I find it to be very clear and to the point in those areas in particular (and I just realised that is when I usually do reach for it!) Very interesting that you have experienced the same.
