Your Life Card

In a previous thread, we discussed how to figure out our Tarot Birth Card. I just found out that it has an equivalent in cartomancy - the Life Card!

It's quite simple and straightforward really, and there's no need for any calculation. Just look at the table below:

BirthdayChart-1.jpg

Find your month of birth on the first row and your day of birth on the first column. Take note of the cell where they intersect. That there contains your Life Card.

So for example, if you're born on January 1, by looking at the table you'd see that your Life Card is the King of Spades. January 2 equates to the Queen of Spades, 3 to the Jack, etc.

Now once you find out your Life Card, go to The Cards of Life Website. There are a list of links in the page. Find the appropriate one for your Life Card, then click on it. It would lead you to the Card's page. Read it and see if what it describes resonates with you.

And that's it. It's simple and quite entertaining too. I know that it seems a bit arbitrary, but one can pretty much say that about many things, including some occult systems. There's no need to take this seriously if you don't want to. ;)

Now I'm curious about what card you got. ^-^

My birthday is on September 1st, so my Life Card is the 10 of Diamonds:

TEN OF DIAMONDS: The Financial Accomplishment Card

As one of the most fortunate cards in the deck with its Jupiter/Jupiter placement in the Master Life Script, the Ten of Diamonds experiences many blessings in life. They often marry well and/or achieve financial success on their own.

Leading their own business or being a business leader brings them the best opportunities for financial independence. Their Queen of Diamonds card in Jupiter suggests this innate leadership ability with a head for business. It also suggests a desire for a lavish lifestyle, so self-discipline is necessary to resist overspending. Their Ace of Diamonds card in Mars suggests ambition and drive with a touch of impatience as well. This combination supports one in having their own business or enterprise that should be quite successful.

Their Eight of Spades in Mercury supercharges their mental prowess and determination. They can achieve anything they set their minds to and do it with aplomb. Practical, a tad stubborn with a very quick mind, makes this card of the deck an impressive force of nature.

Relationships may be an area of challenge for Ten of Diamonds people with the Five of Hearts in Saturn and the Nine of Hearts in Pluto. There may be disappointments and heartache in love that bring and end to a significant relationship or two.

Not exactly philanthropic, the Ten of Diamonds are tempted to withhold their wealth perhaps with a belief that everyone has equal good fortune to create their own. They do enjoy being recognized for their achievements and enjoy attention, whether its positive or negative.

Bestowed with good luck on their side, the Ten of Diamonds can accomplish great things and tackle any issue before them.  They would be wise to consider others as well as themselves to keep the good karma flowing.

People of this card and suit are here to experience life and themselves through values, acquiring worth, both material and immaterial, commerce, evaluation, financial matters and business.

I guess I really am a Pentacles person. My GD decan pip is the 8 of Pentacles, and the 10 of Diamonds is not too far off since it equates to the 10 of Pentacles. The latter is also one of my favorite pips. So yeah, me likey :))

I don't have any idea as to what the playing cards in diverse planetary houses mean, so I may have to read up on that.

I got Five of Spades. Being free-spirited and a love for traveling is true, but all that stuff about Venus and my love life are SO wrong. :-\ The King of Hearts in Saturn is true, I do need to address my emotional health. I think the last paragraph hit home: "People of this card and suit are ultimately here to experience life and themselves through work/labor, health, death/dying, wisdom and/or spirituality."

I am a Nine of Clubs ~ born on the cusp of Gemini/Cancer.

There is a lot more to this system and even more sub-sets of interpretation assignments based on your planetary ruler, etc in your Life Path (created by looking at the 12 cards following your Birth Card). A strong astrological component changes the 'flavor' of how you might view a card. Some authors vary in their assignments of planet to sign rulers. Each year on your birthday, you progress to a new "spread" with another set of cards.
