Queen of Nothing Posted June 28, 2018 Posted June 28, 2018 Chris-Anne, the artist behind the Sacred Creators Oracle, recently launched a Kickstarter campaign for not one, but two decks. I found out about it through Instagram about a week ago and was pleasantly surprised when I found out she launched the campaign. I'm not at all interested in the original oracle deck, but I fell in love with the two tarot decks. They are meant to be sister decks, and I already pledged for the deck bundle, but you can pledge for just one or the other. The descriptions for the two decks are quoted straight from the KS. "The Light Seer's Tarot brings us into a world of traditional and non-traditional archetypes, and invites us to explore its collection of human stories and seeds of wisdom, as we travel the sunshine-and-shadow-laden path of the Light Seer. I wanted to create a deck that not only explored the counterpoint found in traditional tarot archetypes, but that expressed updated ideas around dark and light. I wanted a deck that expressed - in visual form - the concept that the stars can't shine without the night." "This unexpected deck is named the Muse Tarot because this it showed up while I was working on the Light Seer's deck. Like smack-dab-in-the-middle-of-it. And the Muse had this booming idea for a new deck, and she demanded to be heard. She showed up like an inspiration party with a rock band of creative goddesses, each one wanting to be brought to life in a way that felt fun, inspiring and totally quirky. This deck is eclectic, and upbeat, as is the uniquely written guidebook that sprouts poetry and muse wisdom in very non-conventional ways. "
ayuryogini Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 I'm really excited about these decks as well. And was happy to back this project
Venus Rising Posted July 1, 2018 Posted July 1, 2018 wow, both are beautiful decks. Clearly, based on the current amount of pledges, it's a hit! Thanks Queen of Nothing[/member] for sharing this Kickstarter.
Siavahda Posted July 4, 2018 Posted July 4, 2018 I always swore photo-style decks were not for me... But this Muse Tarot has me reconsidering. I wish I could see a few more cards (I've already checked out her Instagram), because it's tugging at me but it would be a huge break from what I think of as my style of deck. So I'm hesitating. I do really like the Light Seer's and suspect I'll be backing it. It reminds me a little of the Everyday Witch tarot in style, but I like this a lot more!

I was originally going to get both, but now I'm hesitating on the Muse. The Light Seer is probably the one I will end up with. You're right, it does have a little of the Everyday Witch feel to it, and like you, I prefer this one as well. :)

I hesitated on the Starchild for that very reason, and it took me a long while to warm up to it once I finally did get it. But when I saw the artwork for the Muse, I fell in love. Something about it just really captivated me.
Venus Rising Posted July 26, 2018 Posted July 26, 2018 Only 27 hours to go on these decks...... I'm really happy to see that they have done so well. :)
Kicia Posted July 28, 2018 Posted July 28, 2018 Both of these decks are amazing! I'm bummed I missed the campaign. I hope that they're available for purchase at some point.
Essjay Posted July 29, 2018 Posted July 29, 2018 I backed these. I follow the creator in Instagram and couldn’t wait for this to launch. I really couldn’t decide between either so had to go for both.
Raggydoll Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 I just wanted to update and say that there are a few (less then 10 I believe) copies of the lightseers tarot now available for pre-order on her website: https://chris-anne.com/product/light-seers-deck/ You can also order both decks as a bundle. https://chris-anne.com/product/bundle-muse-tarot-light-seers-deck/ She writes that this tarot will be mass produced next year, but there will be some significant changes to the deck. I'll quote her: A 'Lite' Version of The Light Seer's Deck will be published by Hay House in 2020! It will not have the same 250+ page guidebook, large box or thick matte cardstock, but if you want to wait it will likely be easier to find, and closer to home.
ayuryogini Posted March 14, 2019 Posted March 14, 2019 I backed this campaign, too. I'm really looking forward to it. I have gotten some really great cards on Kickstarter the past couple of years. I didn't know she was on Instagram; I'll have to start following her.
Raggydoll Posted March 14, 2019 Posted March 14, 2019 I just went to check and it’s 1 deck left, so I guess it will be sold out pretty soon. Hopefully those that really wanted this deck managed to snatch a copy :bok:
Raggydoll Posted August 20, 2019 Posted August 20, 2019 I haven’t received my copy just yet but now that all the pre-orders are sent out, Chris-Anne was said to offer up some of her remaining decks for sale on her website (those will be the very last indie versions since the lightseers tarot is being mass produced next year in a smaller edition without the deluxe cardstock and no large guidebook). However, there seem to be a bit of an issue that has caused her shop to close temporarily. It is in regard to one of the cards in the lightseers tarot that is creating controversy. At this moment it looks like they will redo the card in question and probably send out an extra to all the buyers. Not sure how they will handle the left over decks. I can only assume that the mass produced deck will be altered now too. The card that is being critiqued is the 10 of swords. Some people feel that it’s too reminiscent of slavery (it depicts what looks to be a woman of color, in a desert like environment. She has very little clothes on her - it looks more like a rag then anything- and there are ten visible scars on her back. The creator intended those scars to be from the ten knives/swords that are traditionally seen on this card, but other people have pointed out that it also resembles lashings.) Clearly that’s a huge issue so it is being dealt with promptly. I will update if I hear any more news.
Raggydoll Posted August 31, 2019 Posted August 31, 2019 Update: Chris-Anne has redone the 10 of swords and all those who have bought a light Seer’s tarot with the original artwork will receive a replacement card. The rest of the remaining decks are now available for sale - with the new artwork - and its only open until the 2nd of September (shorter if it sells out). So if you want an independently published version then you will want to move quickly. Chris-Anne has also published an official apology on her Instagram account.
KaiNO Posted October 10, 2019 Posted October 10, 2019 (edited) I'm so envious of you who bought the independently published version of the Light Seer's Tarot 🥴 I will probably pre-order the light version that will be released in December, but this one is far from as beautiful as the Kickstarter version nor will the 295-page guidebook be available. But guys, how satisfied are you with the deck? Does it work for you? 😀 Edited October 10, 2019 by KaiNO Wording

At first I wasn't sure if the artwork would be for me, but I was pleasantly surprised. I feel that it serve a purpose in my collection - it kind of fills the spot that I hoped the Starchild/Moonchild decks would. Those decks disappointed a bit.
