Can no longer post to some threads

Not sure why, but there are some threads I don't seem to be able to post to any more, even including a thread I started (so I definitely used to be able to).

 

One example was when I tried to respond to SaturnCelest's thread "Reading Time in Tarot" (within "discuss tarot in all forms/talking tarot").  Another is my own thread in the same area "Intuition or Out-tuition?". Yet in a child board of the same area, Card Favourites, there's the Post Reply button. It's odd.

 

In the past I contributed to "What is your favorite symbol in the Rider Waite" in Historical/RWS, but can do so no longer.  :(

 

I wonder if it's because I'm now a Student rather than TT&M Family.

I tried that. Tried clearing cookies. Tried using another browser. Perhaps I should go the whole hog and reboot the laptop. Can't hurt.

what happens if you press the reply button on those posts Ratty? do you get a forum error message?

There is no Reply button to press. The most lefthand button is the Add Bookmark one. Can't remember when I'm supposed to have a Notify button, but that's absent too.

 

Other things I've tried include disabling my VPN, changing the forum theme and accessing the helpdesk.

 

Try to access the helpdesk does give an error message:

 

An Error Has Occurred!

You are not permitted to access the helpdesk.

 

I have no idea whether I should be able to access the helpdesk, so the diagnostic value is pretty moot.

The helpdesk should be available for everyone in their time of need, not just us subscribers.

Ok Ratty, you won't be able to see the student section you've been posting in but I'll fix that.  First I need to know if you can now post in the forum?  Please let me know on this thread.

Phew. I was starting to think it was just me. Getting paranoid. But yes, all is well with my access too. Thanks very much (or do I say fangs very much?) to all who helped and tried to.

It was an issue with certain forum sections that guests could view.  Permissions are a finicky thing!

This explains why I could accidentally see everywhere for a few days. Glad it seems to be fixed for everyone with the right areas now :)

 

I am sure once you and the mods conquer permissions Little Fang, they will have a forum upgrade and change everything you know  :))
