Guest Clotho Posted July 11, 2018 Posted July 11, 2018 Hi Everyone, The Celtic Cross is the largest spread I generally use, and I tend to go with Psychological (Jungian) interpretations. Now, not the Internet, I'm seeing all kinds of variations in card positions and meanings that seem to contradict themselves. Is there a standard or consensus on what the positions are supposed to represent? I'm confusing myself. please feel free to move this if it is in the wrong section. Thanks :)
DanielJUK Posted July 11, 2018 Posted July 11, 2018 no, there are many different variations. I would pick one version of each position and stick to it or it's just too confusing. That is the problem with this spread, there are so many different versions :)

DanielJUK Posted July 11, 2018 Posted July 11, 2018 Whenever anyone posts a Celtic Cross to interpret here or get help with, I always have to ask for their positions! There is such a range of different positions for each placement! :) But yeah work out what works best for you, I have changed my preferred ones around over the years. But you are not missing any perspectives on this :)
EmpyreanKnight Posted July 30, 2018 Posted July 30, 2018 The Pictorial Key to the Tarot, the original companion book to the Rider-Waite-Smith written by A. E. Waite himself, has a chapter that decribes the operation of the Celtic Cross. I think it's the first time that the Celtic Cross spread has ever been published, and may even be the original version used by the Golden Dawn itself. You may want to check it out, Clotho.
EmpyreanKnight Posted July 30, 2018 Posted July 30, 2018 HERE is an online resource that shows Section 7 of the PKT, entitled An Ancient Celtic Method of Divination. I hope it helps!
