AJ-ish/Sharyn Posted July 31, 2018 Posted July 31, 2018 https://benebellwen.com/2018/07/30/so-it-begins-the-artist-vs-business-reality/ So far majors only I think. The work reminds me of M.M. Meleens decks.
Page of Ghosts Posted July 31, 2018 Posted July 31, 2018 I follow her on Instagram and she's done with all 78 cards! Might be some cleanup or editing left but it will be a full deck ^-^
EmpyreanKnight Posted August 1, 2018 Posted August 1, 2018 This deck is legit! I was a bit apprehensive of peeking at the designs since Wen seems like a staunch Rider-Waite-Smith adherent and I was half-expecting another RWS clone. But I'm awed by the originality and the sheer detail of the cards. I hope this pushes through.
reall Posted August 1, 2018 Posted August 1, 2018 seen it on insta & art reminds me of old alchemist illustrations I like!^^ also ben blog is my fav!^^ lol
Rose Lalonde Posted August 2, 2018 Posted August 2, 2018 Thanks for the heads up! I like the art and the Golden Dawn Deck titles (minus the "Lord of" part) on the minors with I'm assuming her own titles beneath. At a glance the minors look like some lean more RWS inspired and some more Golden Dawn Deck and Thoth inspired, with of course her own influence too, especially in the majors. I love the Fool, Initiate version. For a card like the 6 of Cups she's brought them together with the GD and Thoth title Pleasure, and beneath that "The Memory Keeper" which makes me think more RWS. I'll be on the lookout for the publish date...
Rose Lalonde Posted August 10, 2018 Posted August 10, 2018 The more I read about this the more interested I am. I can see what she means about it being readable out of the box for anyone used to RWS and/or Thoth, but she's also added more of her unique point of view than I realized at first glance, and I like that. Originality, as EK said. Enjoying her updates, so thanks again for linking. :)
AJ-ish/Sharyn Posted August 10, 2018 Author Posted August 10, 2018 her recent post on finding a printer was eye opening!
